A perfect score of 10 based on the experience from calling ahead to reschedule a reservation thirty minutes later to the time we left. A few key items were sold out by the time we ordered, but what was available made for a delicious time. The drinks were fantastic. The Ceviche, Grilled Octopus, and Chihuahua Cheese were fan favorites as was every Taco on the menu! I personally had the Vegetarian Combination #100 and it is a real eye-opener to a whole different type of cuisine. The menu spells out exactly the language of when a chef is having the time of his life in the kitchen. The entire staff was friendly as well as fun-natured. We will return!

Causal with great food and great patio
Im visiting from Houston and I loved everything about my dining experience. The waitress I believe her name was Stephanie was absolutely amazing, the food was sooo delicious (I had the fried chicken with collard greens and eggs) the mimosas were the bomb.com. The atmosphere was is definitely recommending.

It's a treat to eat at South City Kitchen Avalon! We enjoy your "old stand-bys", like fried green tomatoes, as well as, trying your seasonal dishes. We appreciate your friendly, excellent servers and staff. David has waited on us for a few special occasions and makes our meal so nice.

The food is of course what brings us there, but the wonderful service from people like Rikki and CS at the bar. They take a real interest in the customer’s experience and really make us feel well cared for. They make great food recommendations as well, which allows us to try new things when the menu changes. The former GM David, whom we met a La Tavala, really created a nice culture. The new GM Stewart made sure to introduce himself and also took a personal interest in the front and behind the scenes. We observed all this.
We are not related or compensated by anyone at Alma Cocina. This a sincere compliment to our lovely experience wash time we have been there (5x). But that said, feel free to throw us a complimentary Fried Chihuahua Cheese anytime you feel like it.
