Regular exercise, friendly members and staff. Community of budding friendships
Love the pool
Staff are so friendly and courteous, facility is clean and well-maintained, well equipped. Membership fees are nicely low. Great asset to our community. Name removed
everything! I love the lap pool most of all. The people are warm and welcoming. The weight room equipment meets my needs. I just love the Y.
I like the family atmosphere at YMCA. Also, all the equipment I want to use is there such as free weights, swimming pool, jacuzzi, and sauna.
Challenging classes with Elias I can help to improve my balance, strength and cardio
It has been a wonderful place through the years. I raised 3 sons at the YMCA.
Friendly people, great heated pool!
The variety of classes
The Y has a very friendly environment. Very calm and all members / staff are very respectful of each other. My favorite is the indoor pool where they have activities for everyone throughout the day. The Y also has a little free library which I love to stop by on my way out
Great class with Pat
Good variety of classes and great instructors

Organized and clean
Good people.
The arthritis water class is just what I was looking for - activity without increasing my bone-on-bone knee pain. And the leader, Pat, is super!
Classes
I like the friendly staff and the low key vibe. I don’t like “slick” gyms.
Pickleball. Some excellent fitness instructors, including but not limited to Amy Nelson and Tia Kilpatrick.
Best Qi Gong program in Sac!
The ambiance and all the exercise classes offered all day & evening!
Great staff too!

I love that it's easy to get into group fitness classes. Really enjoy them.
I am judging the Y based on several years of experiences in its fitness classes. I also appreciate the opportunities that it offers to our community's children.
However, just to be clear, I do not believe that the YMCA is in a good place at the moment. We need a much deeper bench of trainers and fitness instructors. This week, for the first time ever, I met someone who works in a management position at the Y--Karen Newton. She was incredibly kind and responsive! For the most part, though, Y management is completely invisible to me. I never see them.
Yes, I recommend the YMCA to friends, coworkers and, even, strangers all the time. But, unless management begins to quickly recruit and train more instructors, the Y will lose some of its members.
I enjoy the accessibility of the Central YMCA. I also find the clientele and staff to be generally friendly and thoughtful. Parking is an additional perk.
I think my Sacramento central does a fantastic job. Especially the aquatics. Im a 69 yo senior that took swim lessons last summer to improve my technique and was so inspired to see all this different age groups you instructors teach. You guys rock!
Easy check in. Not crowded. Good equipment
