Friendly atmosphere
Safety - extra lifeguard circling the pool for tot and preschool classes
Instructors - instructors are warm and welcoming, encouraging and upbeat; they put my kids at ease and help them at their individual pace and level.
Clean - facilities are clean and well maintained
The water is warm, the facility is nice, and the chemicals don’t give me a headache. The staff is incredibly kind and helpful. My son was accidentally signed up for stage 3 lessons when he needed to be in stage 1 lessons and they were able to switch him seamlessly.

I like the guidance we receive on how to make our little ones feel comfortable in the water. My son was never scared of being in water, but still he’s much more confident now than he was before starting swim classes. He is 20 months old and just had his 7th class today. I’m looking forward to continuing his journey and watching him grow into a confident swimmer!
The Johnstown YMCA is always open when I need to exercise. The guy who keeps the Y clean is the most hard-working person at the Y.

The group excercise instructors are fabulous . Pilates and Yoga specifically. Really got be back to exercising again. Building is well maintained and so clean

The Johnstown Y swim lessons are well organized with great communication from the staff. The level 5 instructor is awesome! She’s focused and knowledgeable, and she has a great rapport with the kids. My son’s skill level skyrocketed this spring and summer.

Very friendly and informative staff. The pool area is always clean and staffed with life guards. The locker room and showers and bathrooms are always clean as well
The instructors are very patient with the kids, and they know what they’re doing. On the other hand , they ensure safety is at the top priority for the students and swimmers.
