Thank you for providing a variety of fitness class options for older adults! As a new member I feel welcome to the facility and receive so much encouragement by other members and instructors. It is amazing to attend a fitness class with people of all ages, physical levels, and injury recovery who take the time to strengthen and move their body as a priority. I'm grateful for each fitness instructor who also gives of their time to teach and guide us! The Johnstown YMCA is clean, convenient to use, and actively works to keep members informed. The Johnstown YMCA is life-giving as an opportunity to support my physical health. Thank you!

Close to home and value
I love how close it is to my house, and I especially love the classes that I attend and the welcoming attitude of all the staff at the front desk. I love all the fun things you offer throughout the year and the availability of all the equipment that I need.

I go almost every day to use the elliptical , the track and weights machines. The Y staff is friendly. The Y is clean, well except for the upstairs bathrooms at times. I go early and can usually do my entire workout without having to wait on a machine. I've made friends with other Y members. The other members are always friendly. People say hello even when we haven't exchanged names. I workout to stay healthy, I'm 72. But I also want social interaction which is just as important as physical health. The Y is close enough to my home, as close as other options I could join through Medicare but it offers more of what I need in a gym. I have never used the pool and don't take classes.
I wish members wouldn't linger on the weight machines....on their phones...or bring free weights over to use after a set. Its rude. Also, I wish I believe men would be more careful when using the bathrooms. Nothings worse than finding an up seat with dribble in front of the toilet bowl. Disgusting.
Staff is friendly and helpful. The YMCA has lots of space and equipment to use. Great atmosphere to work out in.

Lots of open time on gym.
Lots of machines to work on, free weights, boxing bag, etc. Would like to see quicker reaction to broken basketball rims, broken blood pressure machine and so forth.
Need to get the class and gym schedule online right up front on website..hard to find..very hard to find.
Would like to see cloths instead of the wet papercloths as they dry out instantly, it seems, for us to wipe the machines down.
Great walkway...does need the fire extinguisher doors to be all the way closed as a few stick out in our path...just a bit....but hit one and you will be sorry.
Would like to see arrows on pavement telling people to come in one entrance and to go east to exit instead of driving back at us to go out.
Would like to see signs saing no backing in to tight slots which takes them forever to do that compared to backing out into drive lanes and driving away. duh.
Would like to see signs saying big oversize (99% unused) trucks need to park out away from where cars and SUV park. sooooo annoying.
Not happy with the town council, whoever, that wailed on YMCA for the finances which turned out to be nothing major at all.
