It’s small, not crowded, and clean
Plenty of up to date equipment to accommodate everyone. Lots of programs to choose from to help get back into shape or just improve health and state of mind.
We have loved everyone who has worked with our family at the YMCA. The facilities are always very clean and updated. We also love the swim program for our kiddos.

The people at the Schalmo Y are friendly. The atmosphere is low key, with everyone doing their own exercise without the competitive nature you feel at some gyms.

The staff is genuinely friendly, and the facility is bright, clean and welcoming. Almost all of the equipment one would need is present. There are no Instagram stroke-my-ego but don’t look at me types types present.

The YMCA is a great addition to our community! There are so many opportunities for individual growth and improvement no matter your age with classes that are included in your membership. Then there are the community days and special events for the family, like magic shows, Easter egg hunts, pumpkin splashes. The kids night out are so fun for the kids and an added bonus date night for parents. The youth sports programs and swimming lessons are great too! Then there are the speciality classes that may be an additional cost but the friendship and supports that develop are truly priceless. I for one am so happy we have a YMCA that we can call our own, it truly is special.

Friendly instructors provide optional/modifications for each exercise tailored to individual levels of fitness. Encouraging and upbeat classes. Wish there were more evening classes available.

The stage A/B teacher is amazing! She’s very good with the younger kids. I love that she doesn’t force the parents to do anything they aren’t comfortable with.

I like that I can feel comfortable working out there . Everyone is friendly and supportive. The staff go above and beyond in their duties. I've felt welcome from day one! It's always clean! I like that it's not overcrowded like some gyms.
