Swimming and lifting weights
Hi. I am a guest of my parents today. Ray and Laurence Welch. They are huge fans of the Y and love this place dearly. Whenever we visit with my kids we spend tons of time here.
I was a lifeguard for many years and wanted to share an observation at the pool. In my opinion blaring the music is a mistake and candidly- dangerous.
The music today, August 30, was a such a high level it was difficult to hear someone speaking next to you. We asked lifeguard to turn it down, which he did, and explained it was to keep the lifeguards “awake”.
1. It is imperative that anyone needing help be heard. You i l’y get one chance to potentially hear someone asking for help.
2. If the lifeguards are so tired that only music keeps them awake, then processes need to be put in place to allow them to take more breaks, etc.
I could go in but likely you understand
Regards
Ian Welch

Like the new equipment and the stationary bikes that have shifters. Miss all of my old classes from pre-Covid.
Spacious, clean, lots to do and great support by enthusiastic caring staff and trainers.
I love the walking track - the Monday morning dogs - the mix of all ages of people - the music - the active environment - LOVE THE Y.
friendly and clean
I’m unbelievably thankful for the experience we have had. My 3 year old son recently had to have a trach and gtube placed and needs nursing support that volunteers would not be able to provide without training. When we approached the Tom Taylor YMCA about allowing his nurse come with him into Child Watch they were mindful of their policy and my son’s well being. We were able to get his nurse qualified as a volunteer and now she can care for him while he plays. This allows our family to join the YMCA again. My other two kids are thrilled to be back and I can get 1-2 hours to workout and know my kids are safe.
I’d love to give a huge shoutout to the leadership and child watch teams for their caring support and understanding. Their creative solution means the world to us.
Clean locker rooms. Nice open space in the foyer feels welcoming.
I have lived in many places and I've been to many gyms. Tom Taylor family YMCA is the best.
The classes and programs that are included with membership.
The staff, facilities, new equipment and the folks who use the facility.
Friendly
I love the people at the desk. They are very positive and welcoming. The machines are clean and always working. I also love the diversity. The people with broken bodies coming in every day trying to get better inspire me.
Variety of programs
Cleanliness of facility
Friendly and caring staff
Make new friends and run into old friends

Very friendly staff and clean facility
Very clean, friendly atmosphere, open and big.
Friendly atmosphere and group leaders and variety of classes, spaces and equipment. Cleanliness.
Great group exercise classes in a friendly environment!
My husband has been attending the Parkinson’s / boxing classes.
He feels this class has been so important and totally organized.
There are many programs to choose from for exercise and better health.
The staff are friendly & helpful - answering any questions a person might have regarding the Y.
The hours are flexible and accomadating.
Great facility with extensive options. And, with kids, adults and retirees running around it gives it an authentic community feel. And the staff are great.
Yoga, track, GREAT staff
Variety of classes offered and the very helpful and friendly staff.
Everyone is cheerful and helpful. The facility is always clean. Having the use of this facility through Silver Sneakers is a great inspiration to stay active and in shape. I would recommend to any one the use of this facility.
Great classes, friendly people and fantastic instructors in a great atmosphere.
Clean facilities and helpful, friendly staff.
The staff and members are all friendly and supportive, the kids programs are superior and the facility is always sparkling clean. The new equipment is terrific (now that I have figured out how some of it functions really differently) and the new layout is great. It’s nice to see that they are taking time and efforts to keep the facility fresh!
I like almost everything about the Y. The building, the cheery staff, the wide ranges within the facility, the positive spirit of the membership, etc.
What I don't like are the new weight machines and the re-arrangement of the upstairs workout spaces.
In particular, the new machine fell cheap, are harder to adjust and to use and there is less variety than existed with machines 1-20

The volunteers and employees are very nice and helpful. Lots of opportunities to be involved in. Good hours. Feel very comfortable.
