It would be nice if the pool open for lap swim during the noonday. However, that isn’t ideal because I would be the only member to be accommodated.
Not a “Y” issue but a lap swim community swim problem.

The staff is very friendly and nice. I spoke with Kyle and she was informative, helpful, and make sure that my mom was able to enroll with ease. She helped motivate her to come more often to help with moving around and having fun with people of her age. I appreciate the staff.

This YMCA is centrally located and it has a variety of machines that can give you a great workout. You can also get a personal trainer if you want one.
Friendly atmosphere
Helpful, friendly place; It is just like a family. People that care about you, exercising with your peer group, no judgement their. Games and other activities to chase away the loneliness of being home alone. Most of all being able to receive a hug, laugh and smile when sometimes you forget what that is.
Staff members are helpful, kind and caring. Well dressed, professional-there’s no loud talking. The music is pleasant. Coffee is always prepared and ready (although I wish they had tops). Fitness instructors are helpful and very knowledgeable about health fitness.
I am pleased with the additional training courses available about health, fitness and nutrition. Food banks are available it’s important when you are on a fixed income.
I like having the option to view classes and sign in online.
I am pleased with the selection of classes offered. Field trips, birthday celebrations it’s just so much fun for Senior Citizens/singles.
Equipment is kept in good condition. I know I can count on the doors to open “ON TIME”
The custodial person keeps the place smelling clean and restrooms are well stocked, and maintained. The office personnel are actively working and visible.
I like the overall environment. I wish they still accepted Silver Sneakers as payment option for membership. I could sure use the help.

Moorland YMCA is a vibe. Like any other city, place, or institution, it's the people that make it special and Moorland Y has the most amazing staff, personnel, coaches, and members. They curate an atmosphere of belonging, encouragement, and community by the people and for the people. When you enter, you are immediately greeted by friendly staff, cool music, and members who have become like family.
The rich diversity of classes, workout equipment, and clean environment are demonstrations of respect and inclusion. As a member you feel supported on whatever part of your wellness journey you may be traveling. But, this is greater than physical health, Moorland supports mental health and emotional health by fostering a sense of chosen family and community through its warmth and caring for others.
Oh, and I like the pool too. I'm sad they cut down all of the older trees by the pool, wamp wamp.
