Small facility, friendly staff, you don't have to walk a mile and then get your workout.
we love it . child watch is amazing and everyone who works there is so nice
I love Grand Prairie YMCA, it's clean, staff is very friendly and the Summer Camp was AMAZING!!! I also like the opportunity I can go to any facility and have also visited both Arlington YMCAs, Mansfield, Coppell but prefer Grand Prairie.
Our swim instructor was the best!!!
My teacher, Sofie, was a great instructor. She had patience with us, while also challenging us to conquer our fear of water. If she didn’t know something, she would even ask the lifeguards for tips to give us a different perspective on how to swim 🏊🏽 !
Friendly staff
Great family community resource. Location is easily accessible to participate in the many programs for our family. The gym is great. We do wish the YMCA would consider a different genre and better motivational music in the gym area.
Yes, environment is friendly. Gym is always clean and it feels safe to workout.
The instructions are very friendly and at the same time going their best to bring out the best of each kid they teach.. they are very patient with them also.. I think also limiting to 3 students per Instructor is more efficient for the instructors so they can give ample time for the students to learn..
Variable activity for diverse groups and individuals
Very helpful, family oriented environment and safe place.
The patience of the instructors and the patience they had with my kids.
Convenient,Coaches are great teachers
Family oriented.
Close to home, kids get great instruction on swim safety
my child had a good time and met some new friends, and he enjoyed riding the bus. He will probably go back next year and try to get his older brother to be a volunteer with the teen camp
Great equipment and Christian music to listen to while you work out.
I love the senior/silver sneakers exercise classes.
I receive a great workout. All the instructors are excellent.
My kids learned fast and they love it
Yes it wonderful
I am giving 10 stars solely to our instructor, Gabriela, who was amazing with our daughter. I loved that she was consistently there (in years past we would often have different instructors weekly.) This helped our daughter continue to build upon what she learned the previous week instead of the instructor taking her back to things she had already learned or wasn't ready for yet. Gabbi was very kind and patient and I would recommend her specifically to anyone who wanted swim lessons for their little kids.
Overall though, I felt there is room for growth. First, there was no communication leading up to the start of lessons. Yes, I understand I am an adult and should keep up with my child’s schedule, but a reminder would be excellent customer service. For those not familiar with the Y, I think including helpful tips like where to check in for your lesson, what to expect for the level you chose, etc. Even using it as a platform to educate the parents registering about the importance of swim lessons because of the high drowning rate amongst children in our state. It could also then be a way to get them interested in S.A.W and possibly donate to the Y due to the importance of the work we do regarding water safety.
The only email I got was the last week of our June lessons giving me a discount code to register for July sessions. I think it would have been better received if it was presented more as a wrap up email of “here are the skills your child learned in level 1/2 and here is what they could continue to learn… here are some great next steps to continue your child’s growth at home… Plus, here is a discount code for future swim lessons!”
There is also not enough seating for how many lessons happen at one time. Then to top it off, the last Saturday, they were working on the pavilion, so all the parents were standing in the sun as most of the seats had been taken by the water aerobics participants putting their towels and personal belongings down.
Lincoln did an amazing job!
The instructors were very nice and taught my grandchildren safety and different swim strokes. They made the class fun. They gave me daily progress reports.
Thorough and time was taken, felt at ease
My daughter loves these classes and is very comfortable in water now.
