Great facility and knowledgeable and friendly staff
I love going to the gym to workout, play soccer, play Basketball, I love walking around the track or even running. I don’t like taking a shower there, it’s kinda gross to me. I love going swimming they should have longer times to open swim
The Northwest Y is staffed with the most friendly people. All trainers and instructors are so knowledgeable!
Many options for workouts - Equipment classes
Clean and comfortable atmosphere
Everything,!!
Everything
Love it. My only problem is that people are very open about having their phones out and taking pictures in the pool room and sauna. It's usually someone taking a selfie or of their kiddo, which is okay to me, but then there's the risk of others in the background or people with bad intention. This would be good to fix this problem! :)
Pleasant atmosphere, availability of machines & pool.
Helpful friendly staff
Great place to work out great staff and very clean facility
I love the lazy river and the play area for kids. The hot tub pool is amazing.
People are very friendly. Not only staff but also the patrons. It's a great place to exercise and chat with people if you like or keep to yourself as you workout if that's your preference.
Northwest Family YMCA is extremely clean, staff is always friendly, and the aquatics is superior!
Plus
It's convenient to where I live.
The staff is friendly.
The team keeps up with new trends (E-Gym)
Minus
It is too crowded at many times of day
E-Gym is far too small for the demand
The track gets dirty and remains so for a few days sometimes.
More coat hooks in the winter months
** I don't use the pool so no Plus or Minus from me
Very clean, well kept, great variety of things to do, friendly staff
The facility is clean and well maintained. The staff is friendly and helpful. There are a variety of programs that promote fitness, wellbeing and community. And the arts program is fantastic!
Great!
It’s clean , up to date equipment , front staff is very helpful and if you like swimming there’s a pool that is throughly cleaned once a week. Also the indoor track is a plus . Many group activities are available if you’re into that.
Its a great, large facility with alot of equipment and track for walking, jogging.
The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable. The building is always clean.

Thevpesple are nice
The facility
I mostly use the exercise equipment and take group classes these days. The instructors get us moving and the equipment is well maintained. In the past, my family loved spending time in the pools and in the large gym where kids could run around, toss a ball and get exercise especially in the winter months.
It's close. Offers wide variety of experiences for nearly any age. My only complaint would be about your Tuesday night basketball league. It recently started back up with 9 persons on a team. That means for aged seniors attempting to remain active, I might see 6 or 8 minutes a game. There should NEVER be teams with more than 7 maximum. With 6 teams in the league, that's 54 persons. With 2 additional persons, that's 8 teams in the B league which was doable since the A league had only 4 teams and their court was available for 2 B league games at 8 PM. Other than that, love the B'ville (I mean NW) Y!
Friendly atmosphere, and well maintained facility! However, with a new E exercise area a Y employee is required to be in that area to aid the participants. No additional personnel has been added to maintain the equipment and clean the exercise area. additionally, they have reduced the amount of elliptical machines that were previously located toward the weight area. Those types of elliptical machines are in demand. There are too many non-used treadmills.
It’s clean!! Equipment is in good working order. Staff is very helpful.
Everything

The Northwest Y is a community where, whatever your interest, you can find a place. I am in the process of adjusting to retirement. The chair yoga classes have reintroduced me to better fitness. The attendees are full of life and welcoming. I am also enjoying the book club. Every week we have conversations that create links to the literature and each other. I feel at “home” at the Y.
