My experience with the North area family YM.C.A has always been a pleasant experience. The staff is always been friendly helpful.
The friendly people and the wide variety of equipment.
I can't think of a better way for a parent with young kids to spend time than letting them play in water instead of TV as a babysitter. From infant daycare to activities for old folks like me there's something for every age that replaces starring at a phone. You can tell a lot about a store or Dr office by the way employees act. At the Y everyone is happy ,friendly and eager to help. I used to think the YMCA was just another place to exercise. It's more like a little village where everyone welcomes you.
The entire staff is very friendly and helpful. The facility is clean and inviting. My only complaint: Some members use the weight machines as their personal phone booth.
FAmily oriented caring help in anything you need to succeed in all y ou goals to be healthy and well!

The place was very clean. I loved the track upstairs. The new machines downstairs. There was a special group of machines that I wanted to try. Something like Emry not not sure of exact name of it. You had to have training before usage. Staff were friendly as well. The downstairs was laid out really nicely.
It has all the equipment I need. Plus handball courts . Always good company..
The welcoming atmosphere. The woman at the front desk helped me find my location and loaned me a paddle I did not know I needed. The beginners pickleball group were super welcoming. They put up with my lack of experience, encouraged me, allowed me extra serves and gave me lots of tips. The also told me about classes that would help me. They were pleased to see me return for a second time.
Ease entry with tag. Plenty of room on indoor track.
Great facility and staff. I recommend that some measures to reduce noise would be well. Flipping huge tires so they crash to the floor, weight lifters who drop their weights hard to the floor, basketball players who apparently can’t play without a lot of hollering, people talking into your ear while making long senseless telephone calls, etc. All disconcerting and annoying.

Having a personal trainer has helped me as a “non athletic “ person find confidence. I am also a big fan of the track and of the lazy river for walking. The facility is kept very clean and the staff is friendly, helpful and supportive.

Our grandkids loved the pool area, especially the Lazy river... Staff were friendly and very helpful in getting us thru the process...

Lots of different offerings, convenient, friendly people
We have been members for years and really love it. My son uses the weight room and gym & my daughter and I use the track. I would say the only thing that is not great is that there are a lot of events as well as sports practices that use up a lot of the track time that community members cannot utilize it. But I do understand being attached to a college and also being a large space for events it just does get taken up a lot of the time.
I absolutely love the state-of-the-art aquatics center. The sauna and steam room are a real treat and make me feel so luxurious! I also thoroughly enjoy the yoga class taught by Virginia and Mandi on Wednesday and Thursday evenings, and the friendly staff at the front desk reception area.
I did want to voice some concerns about the yoga class offering at 6pm on Thursday nights with Mandi. I truly appreciate the YMCA’s commitment to inclusivity and the welcoming environment it fosters for all members. I also recognize that yoga is meant to be a space for focus, relaxation, and respect for both the instructor and fellow participants.
For the past couple of months, I’ve noticed that one female individual’s behaviors in class have made it increasingly challenging for the attendees to stay engaged in the practice. While I fully support making yoga accessible to everyone, I wonder if additional support, such as a mentor or staff assistance, might help ensure that all participants have the best possible experience.
I share this feedback with the hope that we can maintain the positive and inclusive atmosphere the YMCA is known for while also fostering a space where all members, including the instructor, feel respected and able to fully participate in their practice.
The pool is warm.
It’s smaller than River Road so it’s less crowded.
I tell senior folks of all the good things.
Staff is very pleasant; equipment is diversified;most gym attendees are friendly.
More emphasis on people cleaning equipment And mats would be appreciated.
