Frankly, I love it all. As a Senior Medicare recipient, I love it that you have the exercise classes for us older adults, and the other AOA activities as well, like Bingo, Pokeno, and so many others. I think it’s a great outreach, too, that you have a daycare for the little ones, aquatics for them and all ages, two gyms, and an indoor walking trail. I love it also that, when schools are closed, the kids have a safe place to hang out, and enjoy the Y’s amenities.
I am devastated that Ransburg is closing, and am wondering how could such a great community outreach be allowed to do so.
The programs are awesome, they offer a variety of programs that meet the need of all ages for my family. These programs are a way to keep youth involved in positive activities. Ransburg has a family feel and we love coming because of those reasons. The staff are always so nice and they always keeps us informed with changes and updates. The facility is clean, and well organized. I would highly recommend this YMCA to others.

Not crowded. Staff very friendly
Well, I DID like EVERYTHING about your programs and activities. But now, with the horrible news that Ransburg YMCA is closing for good, after 67 years in operation, I am very sad, angry and disgusted. I would like investigators to look into how this facility was financially managed. And what factors led to this shocking decision. It just doesn't make any sense to me. The decision makers, including Gregg Hiland, President and CEO YMCA of Greater Indianapolis, should have their actions investigated. Any other organization as large and as crucial to a community as Ransburg YMCA would of course, be thoroughly investigated.
Everything

Great variety and quantity
I had a heart attack in February 2025. I joined the Y in May. I have been working out 3-5 times a week and have gotten into a good routine to try to stay healthy and active. I enjoy the weight room and all the equipment. Most of all I enjoy not only the friendly staff but all the fellow patrons who work out consistently in the mornings that I do. They keep me accountable and give me the desire to better my self to stay healthy and active.
I was devastated when I learned this Y will be closing at the end of March. It is a very convenient location for me.
Our experience with the cheerleading and basketball programs has been nothing short of amazing. My daughter has grown so much through cheer—confidence, discipline, teamwork, and joy. My son looks forward to basketball every week, and it has helped him build skills, sportsmanship, and self-belief in such a positive environment.
What truly sets these programs apart is the staff. The coaches and sports leadership genuinely care about the kids, know them by name, and pour into them with patience, encouragement, and consistency. This YMCA is more than a place for sports—it’s a safe space where children are supported, challenged, and celebrated. We are incredibly grateful for the memories, growth, and community these programs have given our family.
Everything is easy to find and schedule
I really like the classes for Seniors. In addition the Y is a wonderful place to meet people and experience exercises
Everyone is friendly and makes you feel welcomed at the Ramsburg YMCA. There is a great vibe every time I enter the building. The instructors are prepared and knowledgeable about their classes and caring to everyone.
I love Ransburg YMCA because it is focused on community, good health, and building friendships. It isn't just about exercising, it's about improving your quality of life.
Thank you Ransburg Team.

Staff are super positive! Programs are inclusive and meet community needs. Workout spaces are plentiful and kept in good maintenance.
