Small facility. Plenty of machines to work out on. Pool is clean and enough room for plenty of people to swim at once.
As previously, I enjoy the strength machines and elliptical. I think all the other amenities are important to be of service to a wide variety of clients preferences. I am very glad there is once again an employee posted upstairs. My only puzzlement is why the swim suit centrifuge in the women's locker room has been out of service for months, which increases the wet floors situation since the flooring was replaced. I know it is not feasible to have an employee posted continuously there to mop up.
I like the socializing of seniors coming together, playing Games and sharing. I like the fellowship.
Personal training
Group exercise classes
Occasional musical entertainment, eg, Jazz in the Grass. It was done inside this time. Though I didn't stay, I think inside was probably even better. I got a chance to see people I knew. Normally I'm just there to exercise, but the opportunity to come together in fellowship and music was refreshing and different.
Don’t do
I just go occasionally to exercise. I like seeing all the kids playing basketball together. Pickleball on Sundays is nice for those that can play it.

The staff is friendly and welcoming. They listen to members input regarding suggestions for classes and activities.

The Y offers programs that designed just for people like me, seniors. The staff is very friendly and the hours of operation is idea, if you work or out. The instructors and trainers are very knowledgably, friendly and helpful.
It gives me a reason to get up, get out and workout again. I am very happy to be a member of this club.

I like the indoor track for walking when it's too hot or cold.
this location is convenient for me and a tad easier to get to than Avon site sue to traffic/construction.
HOWEVER - the primary difference is your pool hours & availability are FAR SUPERIOR than Avon HRH YMCA.
Further, Ortho Indy YMCA has a MUCH cleaner locker room & pool area than HRH YMCA. I believe this is in great part due to Miss Lorriane at Ortho Indy YMCA. I rarely see anyone cleaning at Avon, while I see Miss Lorriane cleaning constantly here. She takes great pride in her work and follows the pool class schedule closely to ensure she's right behind a large class to keep it clean and safe.
I do still have my personal training at Avon since this is where I started and my package is. If the need arises to change, I would explore personal training at Ortho Indy.
I am grateful I tried Ortho Indy YMCA and that it's convenient and so clean.
The staff is friendly and greets me by name - this is nice at 7 AM :)

We are very impressed and make the drive (we are actually much closer to Irsay and Athenaeum) because we find both a bright welcoming feeling and a great facility.
