The frequency of classes
I enjoy the senior arobics swim classes. For me its good exercise and I enjoy meeting with all the people in the 11am class. I have made some very good friends. I also really enjoy playing beachball volleyball in the small pool after our class.
The staff that works at the child watch area are phenomenal. They comfort my son who gets a little anxious about when I leave to go work out and always fabulous with my daughter forever grateful for them.
All programs are great!

Treadmills, you need more of them
Deep Water
Linda Dobbs is the very best instructor in deep-water aerobics. Her enthusiasm for teaching, genuine concern for her students, and strong knowledge base truly stand out. Linda is a gift to all of us—she inspires and encourages us to continue our journey toward better health.
Staff is very nice and the facility is generally very clean.
Lately it seems that the water fountains are not being cleaned as much.
We enjoyed the program pool as a backup to Irsay because Irsay’s pool is currently closed.

Good
The wide variety of activities and available times makes it easy to keep active.
The class is fun and the instructor is friendly and works with you if you are unable to do it.
The mixture of free weights with weight machines.
I enjoy using the gym to lift weights and to walk on the treadmill. Each time I come I am able to do both in a reasonable time frame. Locker rooms are good. Also the non lap pool is good, and I use it occasionally. Winters are good, I can use the facilities without facing the weather.
One issue I had. When I joined the YMCA, I was told someone would call me and show me the gym and all facilities the Y had to offer in more detail that my first visit joining. Also I was told someone would be there to show me how to use any machines I did not know how to use. That did not happen.
When I inquired a few times, even called and left a message, I was never contacted. It would have been. nice to have a detailed tour of the entire facility. When deciding to join the Y, I had a 5 minute tour showing me generally different areas. And mentioning classes, events, etc.
One occasion, I brought a guest and did not realize there were two women's locker rooms. My guest was my grandchild, and a very nice lady said the guest or young person locker room was in another area. She said the locker room off the main hall was for over 18 year olds. She kindly showed me, and answered some of my questions at that time.
I enjoy my time at the Y I got most of my information from my PT person at IU, not the Y. I also got information from walking on the treadmill in the gym, and listening to the cardiac trainer person talking to his group.
I like the Y, the convenience, and the ability to work out on my own schedule. I did see one of the trainers and asked her to show me one of the machines for my needs. She was very kind and did. I also have learned from other members.
I'm not cleared by PT to participate yet, but I love that you have body pump and can't wait to get back to it. It's a huge reason I joined
So many choices.
Low cost or free with membership, senior cirizen - friendly, staff always helpful and accessible.
The Y provides a great variety of physical activities for young and old. It's a great place to meet really nice people. The staff is wonderful, too -- cheerful, helpful. I actually look forward to exercising now. Thank you.
