I really like the Easton Y. I like how old and quaint the building is and how it is different from the Stoughton Y. I enjoy many of the classes.
Is there something we could do about the people who come crashing into class when the current class is putting equipment away/trying to leave? The Saturday morning Strength class from 8:00 - 9:00 is a class I regularly take. I've noticed that the 9:00 Zumba class participants forget that the Strength class participants need to leave before the Zumba class can even begin. The courteous thing to do is let us out first. I know they are excited and want to secure "their spot," but it is frustrating for us who just want to leave. Would you consider moving the start time to 9:05? Or putting up a sign reminding people to be courteous?
I really like the Y and I have some feedback. These are a couple of small annoying things that could be easily fixed.
In the group fitness room, there are often chairs in front of the weight racks, benches, coat hooks, and mirrors. And people will put their phones and coats on them making it more difficult to move them. I saw an elderly woman nearly fall the other day. I suggest removing them.
Also, participants forget that there are other people who need equipment, and some will grab several sets of plates of the same weight. I think there should be a limit that you only get one pair of 5.5s for example. Or you'll need to order more weights. I've mentioned this many times and nothing seems to change. Perhaps a sign outlining proper etiquette may help.
Several participants like to get extremely close to the weight racks in the back. I understand that they want to be in the far back of the room, but sometimes they are so close to the weights that it makes it difficult to pull weights out - and this happens even on the days when the class isn't full. Perhaps you could put markers/tape on the floor to allow a couple of feet for other participants to get equipment.
Many options
It's a very friendly and respectful community. The instructors are great!!
I enjoy the 7am group fitness classes on week days. They get my work days off to a great start! Kettlebell training with Ron and Yoga with Jill are really good classes.
Great facility and classes. Friendly staff!
Giving back to the greater Plymouth community.
Organized activities for the kids.
**Would prefer the gym to stay open later on the weekends.**
The people who work at our YMCA are amazingly nice. They will help and guide you with whatever you need.
The equipment is fabulous. There is anything you might need with signage letting you know what part of your body you will be firming and toning.
During the year there are many programs available for us to enjoy that help Plymouth children and adults who are in need of help. We can pick and choose what programs in which we will enjoy. These are all volunteer programs.
Friendly and helpful staff, pool conditions great...love the Jacuzzi!
I love the class offerings and the times available.
I love Carmen and all her classes! She is fantastic and her classes are so fun and a great workout! Carol and Mimi in the kidzone make it easy for me to workout and leave my kids with them!
I was just thinking this morning about how lucky my husband and I are to have such an outstanding Y near us that we can go to. The classes are excellent - what a variety! - and the instructors are wonderful. The trainers my hemiplegic husband has worked with are so kind and understanding, and have the knowledge and experience to have him do the exercises that will really help him. And the facility is fantastic. I am also really impressed that child care is offered so that busy moms and dads can have the time to be able to get the exercise they need. I wish my daughter lived near a Y like this one.
A big thank you to the outstanding team at the Old Colony YMCA!
The facility is clean, the atmosphere is bright, friendly, and inclusive to young, older folks, and people with varying abilities, the instructors are well trained, and the workouts are fun.
All of it, plenty of equipment and personal training options. Very clean and super convenient for me living in Redbrook.

I injured my hip in childbirth and have had a hard time keeping active and have been struggling with my weight. I took my son in to use the pool for free swim and found I was able to get cardio doing Laps in the pool without causing myself pain. I appreciate the ease of using the online schedule to find out the times I can access the pool, and the fact that there is lots of options for lap swim daily.
The YMCA has for many years has helped many children stay off the streets. YMCA offers a safe haven for alll children. My daughter is learning a lot and she has a chance to meet new people. she can be very shy but she enjoys coming to the YMCA and she loves riding the bus too
I love that there is childcare
I love your intructors
The gym is very clean and the equipment is set up in a user friendly way.
I enjoy the family feel of the EB Y. You have people working there who are friendly and it adds to the atmosphere. Other YMCAs I have encountered in the past 13 years have not had that same friendliness I have encountered in EB. Thank you!
