We love the Y!
Variety. Friendliness, resources to community
There are a lot of activities for families and friends.
The entire Staff is friendly and they are always willing to help .The gym itself is immaculately clean.they offer such a broad range of classes and have the very best equipment. It’s a great place to get physically fit but also it is a place to destress and work on your mind body and spirit! It’s nice to feel a sense of community especially for children and seniors.Above everything what they do for the community is amazing .they are core strength for so many children seeking to acquire skills and build confidence and become more social in a world where so many are confined to electronics and lose touch with human connection.they work well with young children and offer all kinds of amazing resources .camp yammikus is one of there best works. They teach children from a young age how to appreciate outdoors while learning and having fun outdoors and enjoy nature ,as the children get older they have opportunities to take on leadership roles and work in a fun environment where they can pass down the values instilled in them.they grown to be independent and develop strong work ethic and teach young children the skills they once acquired. The Middleborough YMCA is a true blessing to have in our community.it’s an opportunity that so many children aren’t afforded
I would like to see the morning hours expanded.
Presently people are waiting before 5am during the week, and before 7am on the weekends. They want to begin their workouts earlier that your hours.
I would love to see the weekday hours start at 430am, and I would like the weekend hours begin at least at 6am.
Please let me know if you have questions.
I've enjoyed the Y the last few years that I have been a member. There are a number of classes available and I like the family/community feel. I have also had to use the PT on two separate occasions and it is nice to have this resource in the gym.
The staff are friendly and easy to approach. I know it's been redone for a while now but I like the new set-up of the main gym.
There are three items I would like addressed in the women's room.
1. The sauna inconsistently works - if I attend the gym 5-7 days a week at least one of those days it is not working.
2. Increased water pressure in all of the showers. We all know which ones are the best and use them frequently.
3. The door in the women's room leading to the pool area is still broken - if the weight is not there to keep it open it takes a few tries to get into the pool area.
All of these issues have been issues for at least the last 15 months and it would be nice if they were addressed by the start of the summer.
All the different kinds of equipment and so many options. The one on one. So many different types of classes all days all times. The friendly and knowledgeable staff.
Our grandson enjoys the swim lessons and the social aspect (he gets to see and talk to children his age)
The instructors are well prepared and patient with the children
All of the Y staff is incredibly patient and kind. My six year old looks up to them all and I cannot wait for my younger child to join next fall. So thankful for the continued support in developmental, social, and intellectual growth!
Teachers are patient
Swim instructors are great with kids! Cameron has been the swim instructor for both boys for about 4 months now.
I do wish that there was an afternoon strength-building class for seniors.
Body Pump is too difficult and too loud for seniors.
The instructors are friendly .
Friendly staff and ample equipment,
I have been a member of Middleboro since I was very young. And I always look forward to returning to the Y to get back in shape. And it's clean.
The Stoughton ymca itself was way better than the one I currently attend in Brockton. If I’m paying for a membership I should able to utilize the facility whenever we please rather than stating that the facility between such and such time will be out of service do to the pool being rented out which is why I believe that the stone location it’s the best location I’ve had attended.
I absolutely loved the Sprint 8 classes. Would like to see more of those.
Love the programs
I really like the Easton Y. I like how old and quaint the building is and how it is different from the Stoughton Y. I enjoy many of the classes.
Is there something we could do about the people who come crashing into class when the current class is putting equipment away/trying to leave? The Saturday morning Strength class from 8:00 - 9:00 is a class I regularly take. I've noticed that the 9:00 Zumba class participants forget that the Strength class participants need to leave before the Zumba class can even begin. The courteous thing to do is let us out first. I know they are excited and want to secure "their spot," but it is frustrating for us who just want to leave. Would you consider moving the start time to 9:05? Or putting up a sign reminding people to be courteous?
I really like the Y and I have some feedback. These are a couple of small annoying things that could be easily fixed.
In the group fitness room, there are often chairs in front of the weight racks, benches, coat hooks, and mirrors. And people will put their phones and coats on them making it more difficult to move them. I saw an elderly woman nearly fall the other day. I suggest removing them.
Also, participants forget that there are other people who need equipment, and some will grab several sets of plates of the same weight. I think there should be a limit that you only get one pair of 5.5s for example. Or you'll need to order more weights. I've mentioned this many times and nothing seems to change. Perhaps a sign outlining proper etiquette may help.
Several participants like to get extremely close to the weight racks in the back. I understand that they want to be in the far back of the room, but sometimes they are so close to the weights that it makes it difficult to pull weights out - and this happens even on the days when the class isn't full. Perhaps you could put markers/tape on the floor to allow a couple of feet for other participants to get equipment.
Many options
It's a very friendly and respectful community. The instructors are great!!
I enjoy the 7am group fitness classes on week days. They get my work days off to a great start! Kettlebell training with Ron and Yoga with Jill are really good classes.
Great facility and classes. Friendly staff!
Giving back to the greater Plymouth community.
Organized activities for the kids.
**Would prefer the gym to stay open later on the weekends.**
The people who work at our YMCA are amazingly nice. They will help and guide you with whatever you need.
The equipment is fabulous. There is anything you might need with signage letting you know what part of your body you will be firming and toning.
During the year there are many programs available for us to enjoy that help Plymouth children and adults who are in need of help. We can pick and choose what programs in which we will enjoy. These are all volunteer programs.
Friendly and helpful staff, pool conditions great...love the Jacuzzi!
Friendly staff ; great classes and schedule
