My daughter hates going to camp without friends. She was dreading this experience, but she absolutely loved it- every minute. Great counselors, fun activities, organized days. Five stars.

My kids like the camp I recommend it

Most of all I love knowing my daughter is safe and having an amazing time while there. This year my daughter has also improved significantly with the swim lessons provided during camp which makes me feel like she much safer when in water. My daughter and I love Ms. Angela, Ms. Madison, and Ms. Brie. The activities provided are fun and exciting. Everytime I pick my daughter up she tells be about all the fun she's had. There's never a bad day at The Y! :)

My son was so excited to go to the Y everyday. Swimming was his favorite activity. He loved playing Gaga ball and all of the other activities provided. He had a wonderful experience overall and we will definitely be returning next summer. Thank you to all the counselors!

My girls are learning so much about the outdoors. Angela has been so supportive during our children’s transition from daycare to camp. The counselors are kind and compassionate. We have notice significant growth in swimming skills in a short time frame. We couldn’t be any happier with this program!

I love that swim lessons are included with day camp. This is such a valuable skill to have. I also like that many of the activities are outdoors and allow children to get fresh air while establishing healthy habits.

My daughter had a really fun time at the camp. She said the counselors were very nice and she felt very safe and comfortable throughout the week. Staff was also flexible and pleasant with me around some crazy scheduling that week.

She was very uncomfortable with the porta potties. I realize this is often a necessary part of outdoor camp, but perhaps more frequent inside bathroom opportunities or more frequent emptying of the units would be helpful.

The kids not only have fun but they learn about teamwork, discipline, interacting with their peers, sharing, etc. we’ll be back again next year!!

Diverse, different activities from other camps. Counselors seem nice, engaged. My kid is safe, she wants to come back and she’s happy there so that’s all that matters.

Shady Grove Camp is very nice and the staff is very well trained to make sure the kids are safe and gets to their destination! Each day a camper is in a group to do activities with team leaders.

This was Stellas 1st summer camp with Shady Grove YMCA and she LOVED IT! Big smile on her face everyday we picked her up and excited to go back the next day. She made friends and had her favorite counselors. Swimming was a favorite also! Definitely would recommend this camp to others. She is excited to return next week for a week five thank you for a great program!!

My daughter and I love everything and everyone during our total YMCA experience. I hope that there will be continued after school program for R.C.Longan elementary for the upcoming school year. We would be past saddened if my daughter is not able to attend.

My daughter enjoyed making new friends and got along with the staff great. She was treated fairly and no bullying occurred at this location.

Swim lesson every day (except Friday)!
One suggestion for improvement: kids bring gear/towels/suits labeled with their names but there is no effort to return it to the kids even though their names are on it. The lost and found bins were full of items labeled with our camper and other campers’ names while they were still participating in the program. Huddle supervisors could easily return labeled items to the campers. Just a suggestion; we wouldn’t send in anything we weren’t prepared to lose.

My son came home every day from camp happy and tired! I loved that the Y had swim lessons included in camp. I also felt like the counselors were so fun and energetic. The family nights were also a nice bonus to see what he does at camp. My son will definitely be back next year!

The staff and camp counselors are so attentive to my kids. They get to know them and really care about the kids having fun, making friends and making new memories. I recommend the Y summer camp and I am grateful for the fun and great care the counselors have provided to my kids throughout the summer!
