Member Testimonials
Welcoming attitude for all in contrast to some other gyms
Different types of classes included in membership.
Size of new weight room after renovations.
Pickleball
Love the facility and variety of equipment. I wish it was a little easier to get into some of the fitness classes
Our neighbors will be joining soon at our recommendation. We like the location, the recent renovation and the classes.
Some things we might change include:
1) the number of people who sign up for classes as soon as it opens and then cancel quite late. While this lets in users on the wait list it gives them very little notice. Perhaps, the people who routinely cancel a few hours before class should not be eligible to signup at the same time as everyone else.
2) School kids who occupy equipment but are hanging out rather than working out. I just don't go during the school kids witching hour at this point.
thank you,
Jor
very good heart maintenance class with Anna.
We love the swim lessons at the Melrose YMCA. The instructors are attentive, kind and great teachers (my kids are 5 and 7). The pool area is organized, lessons begin and end on time and most importantly the structure and content of the lessons makes the full half hour very productive. They are learning so much!
Only go for swimming on Saturdays. Kids love to get in the pool and seem to like their instructors .
I love everything about the YMCA programs and activities!
very caring and comfortable environment. The staff at the front desk are friendly and knowledgeable
My grandson age 5 takes swim lessons at this location. It has been a positive experience for him.
He enjoys coming to class and is progressing nicely thanks to the dedicated swim instructors
Yoga , pickleball , mat Pilates , TRX
Instructors are wonderful
Great instructors
I like the aquatics classes, namely aqua stretch class on Tuesdays & Thursdays from 1-2 p.m.
I am older with arthritis & these pool classes are perfect, plus the men & women are all very nice/fun older adults. It is a community actually.
The exercises have helped strengthen my core making it easier to walk and do stairs, the instructor is very observant of all members ability to participate, the comraderie of the members.
We love when the director of aquatics teaches parent-child program, he is the best!
I’ve already recommended aqua stretch to several friends. The pool is welcoming for classes and lap swimming. The lifeguard team is great. Really enjoy my membership.
Friendly staff, open until 9 pm, good machines, nice variety of options from free senior fitness classes to reasonably prices lessons and personal training.
My son loves all the programs - strength and conditioning, flag football, dodgeball
Great programs for kids and my daughter enjoys!
Instructors are all amazing, positive, and motivating! I love Veronica’s classes as I have attended those the most, but also enjoy classes by Courtney, Jeff, Stefanie and Michelle. The newly renovated fitness center is a refreshing change from the basement level and has been bringing me to the Y more often.
Instructors are very good.
Love the Pilates and menopause class. Would like to see more Pilates and yoga classes. Love the 1/2 to 45 minute strength classes too. Maybe a heated vinyasa class would be nice. Also would love an infrared sauna too
I like the aquatics program. It has great instructors and the participants really enjoy the class.
The pool is my only activity at the Y. My grandson loves the swim lessons!
It is a nice environment to exercise in plus there is a variety of different machines to use in the pool it’s nice too
Water exercise is great. All the kids programs are great! Alex is wonderful and Roubins runs fabulous swim classes for kids.
Ashley is a fabulous instructor- she teaches both my kids. They're in different age groups and she tailors her classes to make them fun and engaging for both ages. My 3.5 year old loves making "silly bubbles" and is so proud of the skills he's learning. My 1.5 year old loves singing songs, splashing, and jumping in the pool.

Is wonderful
