Love them!
I enjoy the flexibility of being able to get my fitness in when it’s convenient for me. The schedule of group classes is versatile and because of the many options, there’s something for everyone. My trainer, Nina, is knowledgeable, dependable, and intuitive when it comes to my physical limitations. A+
Clean and modern facilities / environment, the pool and the open rooms for independent work outs.

Hello,
I joined in January and "The Y" is great. One of the reasons I did was to have access to machines and free weights. I am 77 and participated in Powerlifting when I attended grad school at Clemson. Yes, it has been a while. I will never again pull off a 200 pound squat, but doing a single rotation after yoga class has made a huge positive difference. So thank you for that!
I remember people jumping off a machine if they planned to take a break in between sets. My experience at this Y is a bit bizarre. It is not uncommon for someone to hop on a machine and essentially set up camp. MANY spend time scrolling on their phone with zero consideration of the Y being a shared and busy studio! At least once a week, I observe people carrying on a conversation seemingly oblivious that others are waiting. Generally the worst offenders of gym etiquette appear to be forty and older. I suspect that they are new to working out. Hello, I've never experienced even a whiff of entitled behavior in a weight room before.
I wish the Y and personal trainers would institute a comprehensive weight room orientation that stressed the importance of good citizenship with emphasis on sharing and cooperation. Of course, use phones to scan if one has a question on how to adjust a machine but it is ridiculous to plop on a machine to scroll or check messages in between sets unless one is alone in the gym!
It is not uncommon to see a list of rules or expected behaviors in gym spaces. Hopefully participants would rise to the level of reasonable expectations. Thanks.
Location of facility and equipment is what I need in a gym.
I like the Les mills pump and the boot camp class. The pool and the steam room and the sauna are all really nice.
Excellent exercise programs, swim classes. Clean, happy environment, very friendly staff
Great selection of free weights, dumbbells, machines and cardio equipment. Facilities are clean and well maintained.
I think the YMCA has great group classes. Activities for young children (swim class), middle schoolers (volleyball camps held there), and adults (varying classes).
Friendly, easy to use, free parking.
