Great facility - love the E Gym.
I like the walking/running track. I like the opportunity of the pool, sauna, and the steam room. The room with the weights and such is great.
There are wonderful classes with a strong sense of community. People are quick to embrace you. Colleen is the best! She is such a wonderful teacher and so motivating. It’s the best part of the day.
We just need more weights in the group fitness room! And the body pump bars would be nice!!
I like the easy access to all of the equipment and how it is kept very clean and maintained
Caters to senior citizens
Staff is very helpful
Class instructors are fun, friendly & understanding of older persons limitations & teach modifications for individuals
There's something for all ages. I also really like that the upcoming Sweethearts' Dance is advertised as a program for a child and a loving adult. As an aunt who has custody of her niece, I truly appreciate that this event welcomes all kinds of families. So many programs like this are "daddy-daughter" dances or "mother-daughter" dances. I feel seen when the Y designs programs to include families providing kinship care.
Friendly and helpful staff and great amenities
and programs!
I love this place. A lot better than my last gym. A couple of small things I think could be improved upon. One being the lighting in the room with all the Racks, in the morning/evening/cloudy, it is fairly dark in there esspeically near the windows. Add a couple light to brighten it up a tad i think, would be well worth the effort and funds. My next small item is the weight organization, which is always in disorder. In my opinoin it is because of the 35lb plates. 35lb plates don't have a labeled spot, like on the bench and squat racks. I'm fairly sure there are only labeled spots for 45s,25s,10s, and 5s, which leaves the 35s either going in the 25s spot or the 45s spot, which causes that spot to fill up, and then it leaves the rest of the 45s or 25s to have no home, which leads to the disarray. Both items are annoyances more than problems, still a 10/10 experience. Keep up the great work.
I am not currently involved with any programs the Whitaker YMCA offers.
I use the ‘y’ strictly for cardio and exercise equipment. However based on what I have seen, the Whitaker YMCA has numerous programs and activities available for everyone regardless of age or physical condition.
I like the pool, steam room, and hot tub.
Pilates Reformer (esp Pam Brown)
Friendly staff
Older adults programming.
Great gym!!!! Period.
You can find something to do regardless of your age.
Dorothy is an amazing instructor! The Whitaker pool is excellent for classes.
I am particularly pleased with the training services. I am currently focusing on weightlifting and have been working with Missy Durr since October. I am impressed with her knowledge, professionalism, and insights. In the past, I have taken great advantage of yoga, Pilates, Zumba, and weightlifting classes, and have always been pleased. In fact, many of the classes are full to overflowing, which is a great thing. I like that the facility is clean and inviting, the staff is welcoming, and there are many activities to choose from.
I enjoy the walking track and various machines for working out.
Staff and E-Gym!

This Y is an amazing place. I first went in 2020, but soon had to move in 2022... I actually met a good friend at the end of 2020, who I've worked out with to this day. We went to different gyms, but it never felt the same as the Y. The Whitaker Y is beyond clean, has great equipment, and the staff is beyond friendly. Even more so than that, since I have become a part of the staff, my favorite part of my job is being able to help people. I really enjoy putting smiles on people's faces, especially if they had a bad day at work, giving people good workout advice, or the simple things like helping re-rack someone's plates. I think more so than anything, the best part of this Y is the community and how it feels like a big family
