Friendly and understanding staff.
The facility is close. The staff is very friendly and helpful. I am happy to see the renovations begin, as the facility is old and looks tired.

Our family has been associated with the South Oakland YMCA family for more than 35 years. Our kids grew up there - swim lessons, martial arts, dance, and summer camp. One of our daughters even became a summer camp counselor on break from college. Throughout the years we've grown with the Y, and watched it grow. I served on the committee to raise funds to build the gym decades ago and sat on the South Oakland YMCA Board for more than 10 years. Now, my grandkids are Y attendees, and I'm enjoying my Silver Sneakers membership. The years passed quickly, but thanks to our Y family, they've passed happy and healthy!

Everyone is super nice from the employees to the instructors to the members! Love the classes and am excited that more classes are coming back! I love the Y..my favorite place that I have ever worked out!

Staff is friendly and helpful. Plenty of exercise equipment. An indoor track which is unique to this location. I can get my walking done no matter the weather.

The staff is awesome, the members are like family, overall the best gym around, I have been working out my entire life at various places and I always come back to the Y, a proud member since 1985.
The friendly personable staff is always working to help all those that visit the YMCA. And the recent renovations help to brighten up the atmosphere inside. And the classes are just right for those getting in shape and working to stay in shape.

I love everything about my experience -- especially with the friendly staff.
I am waiting patiently for the pool to increase lap swim times, and hope that leadership is able to hire more lifeguards very soon!
