The family vibes
Pool, gym
The YMCA is great. In saying that I would love if there were classes for toddlers or even in the afternoon to be able to pop in and use a room to have a playgroup, especially in the winter months where there is very little to offer for this age group .
Activities for all ages.
Location, meets my needs and friendly staff.
I like the variety of programs. There appropriate things to do for my husband and I, our grown children and our grandchildren. Having a local YMCA helps keep our entire family healthy.
Classes. Support and kindness of staff i.e. desk staff.
The pool. The number of classes and excellent instructors. It feels like a community. I have made friends at the SOY.
Good equipment to work out, nice swimming pool and extremely polite staff.
The facility is well cared for, clean, offers modern equipment and meaningful classes that bring likeminded people together.
Very close. Alot to offer.
I like the great classes, wonderful staff and awesome members!
I love the equipment , I love all the new friends I've made since I started coming to the Y .
Just started going to the Y. Loving the classes. Great work out. though not like I'm falling down exhausted. Work up a nice sweat.
Great for seniors! Love the classes!
Friendly staff; clean facility!
Useful exercise classes, friendly atmosphere.
Love the atmosphere and comparted to the other gymnasium that I previously belonged to the Y is way more phycological and physically conducive.
Planet Fitness was allowing gang bangers and addicts to join the gym do not miss them at all.
What makes the Y so important to me and my life is the people. From the staff to the members. We laugh and enjoy each other some much. Keep up the great job!
Livestrong program. Vicki and Joe are the best!
From the moment you walk in the door, you feel welcomed! The variety of classes has kept me hooked — BodyPump, Cycling, Bootcamp, you name it the Y has it. Physically, the results are showing up, but it's the mental boost that is truly transformative. Stress fades away, replaced by a positive mindset. Thank you to everyone at the Y for bringing me energy, joy and the growth it brings to my life 💪😊 - Olivia Doyle
Accessible. friendly, many things for older people,
I like the availability of classes.
Friendly people & great classes.
The Y that I attend is friendly, clean and a welcoming place to come to swim.
Love the staff! Very friendly and helpful. Facilities are great. My favorite place to be is swimming laps in the pool, but I am trying out yoga later this week as well. :)
The staff is terrific! I joined this past Fall and could kick myself for not joining several years ago.
Some suggestions:
Have the TV's on with the fonts on and if possible, larger fonts so you can see it farther away
when your on the treadmill etc. Also, have one of the TV's have on one of the Business channels, such as; MSNBC-Business and in addition, either CNN, FOX or MSNBC-regular. The talk group talk shows and the soap operas no one looks at.
It is my understanding that a new YMCA is possibly in the cards in downtown Royal Oak. With this area inundated with seniors, such as myself, you may want to consider a senior meeting room that will have coffee and donuts in the mornings.
If you care too, feel free to call me for further discussion.
