The feeling of family, kindness, support and community in the YMCA. You don't get that at places like Planet Fitness.
Plenty of equipment, pleasant and knowledgeable personnel, and broad and apropos classes.

Andrea is absolutely wonderful.
The people at Lakewood YMCA are absolutely the best! The staff is knowledgeable from helping with paperwork to get my insurance to cover my membership cost, to the amazing instructors who really take time to make sure you understand what is happening in the class and that you are doing the steps correctly. It feels like a big family and everyone has one main focus and that is your physical and mental well-being.
Equipment is always clean and well maintained.

I love the times of the Silver Sneaker classes, and Andrea….she plays great music, changes the routines making them interesting and on your toes….no time to be bored in her classes! The time flys by! I also like the hydromassager! Great addition to the Y….
I enjoy the Silver Sneakers classes. Andrea Horvath is an excellent instructor!
Well, at this point still, I’m just using the workout room gymnasium for continued rehabilitation after multiple surgeries. I see that heavily attended activities in the other rooms for stretching, agility, and assorted other activities that I will probably try it in the year 2026 to help me progress.

The facilities and programs are very accessible. Programs are offered for all age groups and levels. Membership fees are reasonable.

The pool. But locker is freezing cold. Turn up the heat. And showers often just lukewarm.
