Member Testimonials
I love the instructors and the girls at the front desk. Two of them who are outstanding are Brenda on the front desk and Cookie, the Aqua Fitness instructor. I love the programs offered for seniors, too.

The Hillcrest Y has so many different programs and classes, and they're always adding something new to the mix. I love that I can always find something that fits in my schedule. The staff members are delightful and they're always happy to help. The fitness instructors create an environment of acceptance and encouragement for everyone, no matter how far along you are in your fitness journey. I've never felt judged or looked down upon for struggling with certain exercises. If an instructor notices me or anyone else in the class struggling, they quickly offer modifications without judgement so that you can still get an effective workout. The Hillcrest YMCA is a very special place where everyone wants to help you succeed and support you however they can. Joining the Y is one of the best things I've ever done for myself, and I'd recommend it to absolutely anyone.
The instructors are passionate and enthusiastic. The classes offered are varied and at convenient times. Front desk staff are always welcoming and friendly.
The programs and activities such as the swim classes have some of the best instructors, who are friendly, professional, courteous, and patient. Also, the staff at the front desk are well informed and able to provide detailed information about all current activities. Great job to Hillcrest YMCA!!

Programs for the active older adult are wonderful. The Field trips planed from Mary to December are fabulous.
The staff are ALL courteous and respectful.
At the Y, there is "something for everyone!" The programing is well thought out; the teachers are wonderful and really excel at making the classes both effective and fun. I think we all look forward to the social interaction as well and have made new friends along the way. The support staff could not be more friendly and helpful. THANK YOU FOR YOUR ATTENTION TO DETAIL AND TO MAKING THIS A GREAT PLACE FOR ALL!

Swimming basketball chid care and great staff
Friendly competent staff.
Absolutely LOVE Ester’s after 50 class. She really understands her “followers” and caters the music and the moves specific for her loyal group. I’m sorry to say that if come for a workout and Ester is out, I will turn around at the door. Have tried twice when she was away but there was no rhythm or movement to the musical beat. Other reasons I’d recommend Hillcrest Y is the friendliness and helpful of most of the front desk workers. Unfortunately some of the newer staff are not quite there yet.
The staff is very friendly. There are many greet activities for adults and children. I happen to Love the pool.

I am extremely pleased with the arthritis water exercise class, especially the 1:30p.m. class. My schedule would accommodate the 2p.m. time slot better, but afternoons are definitely the best for me. Open swimming just after that class would be beneficial, just to get the additional water time for my body wellness. I understand that currently the lifeguard coverage is limited.
The monthly lunch get together with games after is a fun activity. However, the size of the attendees may have to be limited to 50 participants for easier maneuverability. Changing location to the gym would limit the handicapped that cannot navigate the stairs.
