I am in the Silver Sneakers program on Tuesday's and Thursdays, and also enjoy the various day/over night, bus trips that the Geauga "Y" offers. I attend these functions, not only for the exercise that Silver Sneakers provides but for the socialization the various trips provide. My lady friend, Babs, enjoys the trips too.

Pickleball is at a convenient time and place and participants are friendly and undestanding of those of us who do not play all that well. I also like the fact that you have a staff person responsible for planning activities for us seniors. I have been on several trips that she has planned.

We have only been members for two months and we love, love, love it! The facility is clean, the staff is so nice, and there is something for everyone! We have been extremely happy with the childcare and it’s such a nice break for me to workout by myself for a little while. The workout classes are also something to rave about. The teachers are motivating but challenging. Joining the Geauga YMCA has been one of the best things for our family.

Hours of operation
Friendly, supportive staff. Wide range of activities for seniors. Especially: BEAUTIFUL pool. So many pool features and wonderful hot tub. Shower rooms are lovely.

Nice facility - people that work there are great.
Down side is there has been no improvements or additions to the facility for 20 years. Really wish there were Racket Ball Courts like most modern Y's and an indoor track. It's an expensive YMCA for just a 2-court gym, pool, and workout room.
By far, the greatest group instructors are Melanie and Jay. I take the Tuesday 9:00 am weights and aerobics and then the 10:00 am yoga, which has a good instructor. On Wednesdays, I take the 9:00 and weights and the 10:00 am cycling. I encourage everyone to take weight-bearing and aerobic exercises two to three days a week. It has been scientifically proven that these two types of exercises boost a person's immune system (which is all the Covid shots do); releases endorphins to uplift a person's mood and tamp down depression, producing an upbeat feeling; stimulates heart, muscular system, and bone strength; and finally, group exercise enhances camaraderie among the participants which takes these exercises into a spiritual realm. I know it is difficult for any person to start exercising after years of neglect, but an attitude of sticking to it as necessary as eating healthy and sleeping will produce results after months of joining us here at the Y. Besides that, Mannie's cheerful smile will make your day when you come in.
I liked the locker room, and the pool. The only thing I would suggest is that there should be a railing on either side of the pool entrance. I felt unsteady going in and out of it, and would have liked having something to hold on to. I had my keys fall in the shower drain, and the staff was very helpful in getting them out. I was treated with respect, and made to feel welcome. I'm definitely coming back.
The senior programs and trips
I really like the pool. I really like the fact that there are many different areas of the pool that one can use.
Nice variety
I like the casual, home-like atmosphere. There are opportunities to exercise in groups or solo, and at different intensities. The friendly attitude of the staff seems to carry over to the members. I have never had an unkind comment from someone younger and fitter regarding my being old and slow even when they have to wait for me.
With the addition of Dana-there is other classes to choose from. All the instructors are friendly and care about their clients.
Mostly water exercise, hot tub, and sauna. The showers and locker room are always clean.
