I am a 74 yo lady and enjoy a lot to be part of this YMCA. Since my retirement on September 2024, I tried to participate more frequently although not always is possible due to my frequent trips.
The Wednesdays morning line dancing is a must. The teacher is amazing and the group of ladies that attend the class are fantastic and enjoy the class.
I love to swim also but sometimes there are not a single lane for people like me that do not compete or check their times but only want to exercise our muscles softly.
And I want to remark the Mondays Zumba classes at the evening time. with Melissa! She is so sweet and great, always smiling, encouraging us to move and follow her steps. She doesn’t look herself at the mirrors! She faces us, which is what a teacher has to do!
I have long time experience in free dance improvisation in my motherland, Argentina, and knowing that, Melissa always plays an after hours song for me, to dance as I used to do (her class is the last in that room on Mondays, so we do not bother anyone). And amazingly another young lady in that class joins me in that last song!
Who knows! May be one day more of us would like to improvise the dance for joy!
Regarding the YMCA, I think that to add a small area for people that want to share time after exercise would help in creating an environment for adults to talk and have a coffee and snacks and mingle, (paying of course) with other mates.
Thanks for the opportunity to comment. I also use the machines, but these are more impersonal than the classes.

I very much like the friendly environment and variety of equipment in the gym. The only suggestion I have is to remind patrons that they should not just sit on the equipment for prolonged periods while looking at phones or visiting with other patrons. A brief resting period between workout sets is okay, but sometimes the lag time is excessive.

The swimming pool is the best kept secret in the Houston area. Lifeguards are dependable and personable; water is clean; always laps available without having to share. Locker rooms and showers are well kept and not crowded. Many classes to choose from.

Excellent instructors, nice choice of classes, well equipped wellness center, clean facility. Management that listens to its members.
Skilled trainers. I do Silver Sneakers classes and I get a good workout by trained individuals and they always look out for our safety first.
I do the group fitness classes and my kids are on swim team. We love our Y. It has a great staff.
That the coaches genuinely help improve skills and allows it to be a fun experirnce
Very nice staff, attentive and always polite. Facilities are well maintained and kept clean. The variety of equipment is excellent. Training and classes are quite numerous.
The sports activities are very organized, coaches are professional, and works diligently with the children. The staff is very friendly and professional. This is a great place for young people to spend their time.
A sauna would be great addition to the ymca.

I love the programs at our local YMCA, we have done swimming and Volleyball. Coaches and trainers are very good with the kids, they have done a phenomenal job!! Will be on the lookout for more programs to keep my granddaughter involved
