Trotter has step classes
And John Dalton is an awesome instructor.
I primarily go to the YMCA for Pickleball, then swimming, but I'm excited to look into classes!
I recently relocated to Houston from NY, where I was a YMCA member and was able to use the Nationwide feature of a YMCA membership. I renewed my membership at the Trotter Family YMCA. I love the location, but especially the workout and social aspects of playing Pickleball.
And to be able to swim in an outdoor pool, in the winter? Awesome!
The staff are great! Friendly, always a smile and greeting! and a few even join us playing Pickleball (on their time off)- fun & friendly!
I just called the Y for a billing question. I wish I caught her name (she said she was relatively new), but I talked a staff member in membership (or member services?) and she was so helpful, patient and very friendly to talk with! Thank you!
Fan (and member) for life! :)
They are family friendly
There are a lot of classes offered and great machines to use.
water 4 days a week
I love all that the Y has to offer! I use the gym for training and working out. Also I use the tennis courts for tennis fun. It is so nice to go to a gym where everyone is friendly. The whole atmosphere feels very personal.
I love the book club.
The Ballet teacher is amazing ❤️❤️
Wish you had a sauna, no other major complaints
Flexibility to incorporate Coaches like Michael Soulos in youth soccer programs. The hiring of staff that is knowledgeable about soccer like Coach Faith and Coach Emmanuel. The hiring of a director of youth programs open to make things happen, like soccer academy clinics. The supporting staff that’s always willing to jump in to help. The formative experience of being able to practice soccer with consistent coaching over so many years. With so much changing in public schools, it’s nice to have a place where kids and teens can find consistency.
Even though I don't go much any longer because I'm in my 80s, I was a avid attendee 3 to 4 times a week. I love the Trotter Y and know several people who go and love all the Y has to offer. It's better than any private club
I have been a member for many years and the YMCA has never disappointed me. Perfect location for me.
Content and Instructors
Senior stuff. Needles.
I like all the senior programs from Silver Sneakers and trips.
Muy bueno todo
I am a Silver Sneaker. I like that I can show up and workout with various machines and weights. I also find it great that there is a running track. I like to mix up my workouts. Trotter YMCA allows me to do that.

Range of exercise classes
The facilities are outstanding. There are various types of courts, machines, and weights. The pool area is as good as one could expect. The showers and changing areas (at least the men's from my personal experience) are at hotel level. All of these are kept clean and well maintained.
Best of all is the Y staff. From the minute you enter, they make you feel sincerely welcome. The trainers are completely knowledgeable and have your best interest in mind. I'm lucky to have a place like this!
Instructors are friendly.
Excellent variety of programs and activities. In my 28 years of membership, I have found this Y to be staffed with outstanding individuals. They are knowledgeable and helpful.
Diverse activities. Trip to winery, canasta, fitness for seniors, camaraderie among people I have met. The Trotter Y is a neighborhood community.
Yes, there are many programs that I like.
