I enjoy the wide variety of services and facitilies in the downtown YMCA. I have always compared it with other gyms and even though they are very much cheaper than the YMCA membership, they lack the options.
Convenice of location and class schedule that works with my workin ghours
It’s clean.
The water exercises. I just wish they had more days and a better time schedule.
The large facilities & all the amenities that it has to offer.
The Downtown YMCA is like family to me! I am grateful to the staff and my Y friends.
The Downtown Y has evereything. There is no better or more complete gym in town. Period. And if I'm in another part of town or southern Indiana, I can get almost as good a workout, without paying extra.

I would like to see more power yoga and Pilates offered for evenings. Too many standard yoga offerings. Not enough variety for after work/weekends.
Group classes
Leslie's 2 hour spin class during the winter. It's a fantastic work out & lots of fun. There is nothing like it at any other Y or fitness place in Louisville for that matter.
Proximity to work and good variety of options.
I love the downtown YMCA! As a gay man i never feel like people are staring at me strangely or like i do not belong there, like i do at other ymca’s in the area, for example the Norton Commons location.
I like the small crowd and the 24hr access!

For some reason the email was sent to my wife. We both work at Norton and I am the one who has been using the Y. I think it is a hidden gem on the downtown campus. We have had a community membership for a bit, and just never made it as far as to get across the street to see the Y at work. Will honestly get my money worth out of our Y membership by using this one.
For the most part the facility seems to have just about everything. Equipment is newer and nice and the facility seems well kept.
Knowing there is a financial impact to offering free weeks, I think it might be worthwhile to try and offer it again mid summer and between the end of summer and fall. Opportunity when people are staring to get active again or are tapering down outdoor activity.
Overall, glad I gave it a try and plan to keep using it.
