you have the right info about the person that you are working on.
The hairstylist seems to be untrained. My son and I went there a month ago and she cut his hair - horribly, then had someone check who re-did the whole cut. Then I went alone and got her (not realizing this until the cut was done). She had done another horrible cut, unfortunately it was too short for the other person to fix so I was stuck with a bad cut.
On the positive side, she was a good conversationalist and I had a pleasant time. Unfortunately, that's not really the most important thing when getting a hair cut. I shouldn't be paying $40 for someone to practice on my hair.
Well, more consistency would help.. the first time I went I got an awesome haircut by a real professional and she charged me $30 so I gave a $20 tip. But the second time wasn't nearly as good of a haircut but she charged me $35.. so I only gave her a $2 tip . Not nearly as skilled as the first one

Lots of turnover since I returned to getting haircuts. Seems like the good haircutters get promoted or leave. Like the fact they have a experienced cutter check my cut before finishing, but I seem to have to describe what I want everytime...to a new cutter. Not in need of a fancy or complex cut, just a traditional Gentlemens cut. Good news, in a week or so, hair grows back.
