If it were not for a few wellness coaches (Kealani) and past/present instructors who truly care about your health, exercise and overall outlook, I wouldn't be where I am and headed in the right direction. Melita, Karen Wise, Tri Coaches Susan, Megan,Carrie and Kathleen Bucther have always insured we understand the whys behind form, function and how it prepares us for our current goals/races and life as we age! It doesn't matter if I fall....just get up and take the next step. Doesn't matter if I am going left when everybody else is going right....at least I am moving and enjoying the moment regardless of what others are doing. Every time I said I can't, they said sure you can and we had fun on the journey. Thier passion in what they do and confidence in future success is contagious.

You are convenient and open when I want to work out.
I would like to see more aerobic type classes that are 30-45 minutes max, are earlier in the day, like 8-9 am rather than 11, 12, 1 pm, are less intense and that cater more to older audiences over 55 or 60. The moves should be less complicated. I am 63, thin and in shape but I no longer tax my feet or knees by running or jumping up and down. I also have shoulder problems so I do not throw my arms around quickly. I don't get up and down off of the floor quickly either or follow and process the moves as quickly as I used to. It is frustrating to try to follow a routine that changes every 30 seconds and moves 90 MPH. I'm not yet ready to be wheeled out to pasture. My heart can do this. I would love to do more of the classes but they just don't fit. At present I am only use the weight machines.
I love everything else about the Y and have recommended it to many people. Thank you!!
The environment and the people.
I would like more water exercie classes during the evenings and offered every day. It is hard for those who work full time to take water exercise classes with the current schedule.
Also, the Y needs to be update.
There is something here for everyone, from babies to seniors! I’ve been an active member of the Alpharetta YMCA since it opened and it continues to meet my needs.
Variety!
Staff is very helpful and the site is well-kept, i.e. clean and organized.
I only use the strengthening exercise equipment. I like the number and variety of equipments/machines. I have always been able to exercise on the machine of my choice at the time I wanted to use it.
