It’s the right people, price, and location. Boom!
Enjoy the easy access to Y, able to drive or ride my bike.
Another plus is the ample supply of aerobic exercise machines.
Socially the Y is a eclectic mix of the community.
I like the friendly staff, the equipment that's easily accessible and the family atmosphere surrounding the Y.
The facility has so much to offer. The pool is awesome.
The spin classes, the pool, the workout space and the staff--so essentially everything.
I love this gym - only problem, it can feel a little dirty, stinky at times. Overall though, there's a great community feel and overall quality of unity and togetherness that's felt at Townlake's YMCA.
Yoga classes are nice. Pool is nice.
I love the feeling of community. I like that the activities can fit all different individuals. The person leading the class makes sure we are doing it correctly and we can make the activity as hard or easy as we want on that day.
I love the diversity of the membership at the Y. I workout next to people with all different body sizes, skin colors, abilities, and circumstances. It’s refreshing!
All levels welcome, good variety of classes.
Varied and different programs for all age groups. Interesting layout with decent well kept facilities
I like the expansive weight and exercise areas, where I seldom have to wait for a machine or equipment.
They are joyful.
Pilates classes - instructors are excellent.
Easy to get in and out... I love the location! I am not in any programs yet, since I'm attending through a study with UT, but looking forward to joining after this is completed, so I can attend classes. It would be nice if they threw in one or two while I'm in the study, though!
Thanks, First name removed C!
There are a lot of them
I like the diversity and friendliness of the staff and participants, the excellence of the training of the staff, the attention paid to requests made by the participants.Everyone seems focused on positive goals.
I only use the pool.
I am anxious for school to start so that the swim lessons do not take up the lanes and crowd the pool for lap swimmers.
Diversity of clientele. That our insurance allows us to come for free. That there are always treadmills and floor mats available. That the reception desk greets us coming and going. That the changing facilities are well kept. That the facility is light, bright and clean.
Good timing, great instructors, facilities
almost everything. I love that you have a ballet barre up in a room on the second floor. what I do not like so much is that this is the default room for other things: meetings, birthday parties, etc. It is the only place at the Y where I can use the barre but half of the time someone is using it who has no need for the barre.
I would suggest installing even a small barre in the weight room or another large area that is open for general use at all times.
It's time we had our ballerinas and weight lifters working out together!
I like CoreX and BodyPump because the instructors are always super fun and motivating.
Variety
I LOVE Child Watch!
The TownLake YMCA has to be one of the most inviting places in Austin. The staff is so welcoming and friendly, and it is so nice to see our entire community represented in one single place and in harmony. Keep up the amazing work, TownLake!
