My daughter loves volleyball. The gym is nice and we loved our team mates and coach.
Great team building, all kids are involved, builds self-esteem in my child. Really enjoyed learning n competing.
My daughter really loves the volleyball program at the Y.
The coaches are AMAZING and the games are so well run. We did have issues with basketball however in that the boys pretty much refused to pass the ball to our girls. It was very frustrating and the coach handled the best he could, but I think it would be much better if you offered girls-only basketball option. Also, I would say no stealing until they are much older. At 9, they are still learning to just dribble the ball and stealing is demotivating.
Otherwise, LOVED the coaches and the refs and love the YMCA so very much!
Thanks,
Suzanne
The YMCA is a great environment to introduce a sport to a child.
It's a very friendly environment and they make it very easy for kids to learn a new sport and have fun.
Great positive experience for our kiddo being introduced to soccer for the first time. We loved the teamwork pledge and the focus on cheering for both teams/ all kids participating.
We have had great luck with having patient parent coaches this past year in soccer and basketball. Also my son's teammates have been kind and there is usually not an overly competitive vibe. I like the skills clinics at the beginning of the season as a refresher too.
Love the volleyball program - would love to have some more clinics between the seasons to keep the kids going and uping their skills.
Friendly staff, welcoming facilities, great teammates and parents! We love Mike at the Southwest Y.
It’s a great way to introduce your kids to teams sports - just the right amount of organization, encouragement and commitment for the beginner. We love the Y staff and appreciate the patience and generosity of all the volunteer coaches.
Inclusive for all skill levels. Only wish the seasons were a bit longer. Just when the teams start to really gel, it’s over.
Laid back, well organized, affordable
Very kind and helpful staff at YMCA
Super friendly staff and members! The facility is clean, the pool is amazing, and the equipment is great! I've enjoyed the few classes I have been to and will be joining more activities soon!
They're customizing for my kids' needs.
Great instructors. Friendly staff. Community events.
Organized and the gym is a good size
I can see a big improvement since Eileen took over. I feel my kids are getting a lot of attention from the instructors. I really like how many instructors are available during each class. One area I would like to see an improvement is scheduling. It would be great to have the swim classes during the week starting at 4:30pm and later.
Classes
All ages are welcome
I just use the free swim indoor pool and find it very convenient.
I go for the lap swimming. Springs Family YMCA has very nice outdoor and indoor aquatic facilities. Check in is easy. The staff are always pleasant and helpful. The weights and cardio rooms are very well equipped.
Diversity of classes offered. Friendly staff
Most activities are great. I just wish that if indoor pool schedule says open swim; and if they are having swim classes at same time, that they would advise us no open swim during swim classes or leave one lane open for open swim!
Great instructors and an environment that’s conducive for learning
We can work out any time, diverse membership, very clean, plenty of machines, nice admin staff, kids and old people, good parking.
I recently joined so I've only tried some yoga and Nia classes. Instructor is great. Staff is helpful and friendly. Building is clean.
Silver sneakers classes

Great classes with variety!
