I didn’t expect to like planet fitness. The logo is LSU colors and looks kinda steampunk, so… you’re already starting off with a few things that I don’t like. I had also heard that they get onto people all the time (PF in general). I had always imagined it being like Curves.
I initially decided to sign up because it seemed economical and ended up getting the black card.
First thing I noticed is how clean it was. Even though there’s always people there, it’s never a long wait for equipment. Use of tanning and the massage machines are a bargain and have really been a factor in maintaining personal consistency. I leave feeling like I’ve been to the spa.
Another major factor in recommending PF to other people is the professionalism of the staff. They welcome and acknowledge every person with eye contact and a smile that walks in. The staff is almost like good bartenders in the sense that they remember your names and your preferences They are all friendly and engaging yet not overly familiar.
The staff is constantly cleaning and it show yet they are quick breakaway and help customers. Even in situations where the customers seemed to be getting agitated over something. They quickly diffused the situations in a professional way that left everyone dignified. Here is a list of my favorite and notable staff.
Jacob, Damien, Lindsey, Rebecca, Mindy, Ariel, Vince, Sunny, Bailee, Ryan and Brendan. I hope Planet Fitness treats these employees as well as I feel served. They really set a vibe and I’ve noticed because the culture of the gym is really friendly and respectful. I see people of all fitness levels, size, color, and pronoun working out and getting along. When it comes up in conversation…I tell people that I love planet fitness.

The Total Body Enhancement "machine". I love the red light and the "workout" mode.
It's both the nice atmosphere and staff that works constantly to make sure the gym is clean constantly. Also, they are helpful and friendly when you need something.

The managers Yahida and Ruby are awesome! They are always there to help when I have questions and very quickly address issues in the club. The trainer Alex was also really friendly and knowledgeable. By far the best PF around!

I come very late to the gym gym every night after a long day so it is very nice to see friendly faces at the front everytime! Miles and Orlando always seem to have a smile on their faces when anyone walks in, and the gym is always maintained clean! I love the atmosphere of this gym and I don’t see myself changing gyms anytime soon.

My experience has been a pretty good one. I did upgrade to the black card for a short while. Honestly I didn't like how lengthy it was to upgrade and really did not like how it was a lengthy process to go back to the classic membership. When I was joining I ended up signing documents several times (some confusion on the attendants part at the counter). I'm not sure why upgrades or downgrades can not be done through the app.
One issue I think that would be a quick solution: have paper towels available in the locker / bathroom.

Everything was great everything I needed was there and the staff were very friendly but also very secure in their security.
Machines are spaced, clean bathroom and work area. The best : hydro massage, chair massage, and the red light.

Clean equipment and environment. Quiet, never crowded. Front desk is always manned and a staff member always greets you. I feel comfortable and safe with no judgement.
It was an enjoyable experience. Every machine I wanted was available. The staff was friendly. I just wished that you could control the heat factor on the hydro beds. After a sweaty workout it’s not the most relaxing experience to lay on a hot bed.
