The preschool does so many fun activities! Spanish, swimming, Zumba… my daughter has so much fun she is sad to leave when I pick her up
I absolutely love the childcare department. The teachers are so caring and the curriculum is creative.
We’ve had a truly wonderful experience with the Early Learning Center at the West Chester YMCA. The programming they offer goes above and beyond anything we expected. Our child loves the weekly swim, Zumba, Spanish lessons, and especially the yoga lessons. It’s such a gift knowing they are getting enrichment experiences built right into the school day.
Another huge bonus is the ability to enroll in additional end-of-day activities. It makes scheduling so much easier for working parents, and the variety keeps the kids excited and engaged.
The teachers are fantastic! They are warm, attentive, and genuinely invested in each child’s growth. We’ve been so happy with the Montessori class.
Overall, the West Chester YMCA’s Early Learning Center has exceeded our expectations in every way. We couldn’t be happier and highly recommend it!
Great Pool and Workout area
I Enjoy the equipment
There are generally great instructors!
I love the West Chester Area Y’s huge gym—complete with an E-Gym circuit—indoor running/walking track, and best of all, a 10-lane indoor lap pool. I never have trouble finding a lane to swim in or share with just one other person. While I was fond of the Upper Mine Line Y’s hot tub, WCA has a sauna—which is even better. This location also has many workout areas where you find space for Yoga, or simply a post-workout meditation.
Good choices for early morning (6 or 7 am) classes and great instructors.
Well organized.
The WC Y is very clean. There are lots of shower stalls and bathrooms in the locker room compared to the other Y's. I feel like this is a benefit that the other Y's don't have, but should have. I feel there are maybe 4x as many showers at WC vs Coatesville and Lionville. This is a must have for after swim practice. My daughter is on the BCLY swim team and there is always a wait for the showers. I always tell her after I come back from the WC Y, wait till I take you to the WC Y and you see the locker room, it's amazing!
The yoga room also has a more, yoga room feel, than the others. I haven't taken much time to compare what's different, but when I go for yoga at the WC Y it has more of a yoga vibe to it.
Warm indoor pool.
I will be happy when the stairs are reinstalled.
While my schedule doesn't permit me to participate in the group classes, there's a huge variety which is great. The breadth of programs for all ages is really impressive.
such a wide variety and something for everyone!
Everyone is so nice at the Y. I love the pool.
I like the water aerobics. I am disappointed that they have canceled some classes and changed the times of others.
Great people, great programs!
Swimming
All the classes both aerobic and aquatic!
I swim in the early morning and I want to give a shout out to all those lifeguards who show up that early shift especially Amanda, who is so friendly!
Also I appreciate Leslie who welcomed me back after being away for a time.Always a great place to be!
For me it is the facility- good hours, relatively well
Maintained equipment
Great group classes and instructors, particularly gentle yoga, lite strength, fit lite, as well as the monthly Technology Clinic for +55 members, and the E-Gym. West Chester Branch.
The staff is friendly and helplful The areas are always clean & ready for use. They always have free coffee available in the mornings. When the kids are there they seem to be enjoying themselves & often they are seen with helpers taking them for a carriage ride both inside and outside.
There are tables & chairs for folks to sit & visit with friends. And it is a welcoming atmosphere all around.
Lots to choose from and good times for me
The people and choices. Wish classes like the Aqua had the ability for more people can attend or more classes offered. It is very hard to get into a number of different classes if you don’t reserve within the first minute or so you can’t get in.
Haven’t experienced any. Great tour of facilities and registration are my only experiences so far.
Although this is a pretty popular facility, there generally is enough equipment that you don't have lengthy waits. There are a wide variety of programs, whether for younger kids or seniors. The vibe from the workers is very upbeat and welcoming in my experience.
Like that a Yoga class is available most days.
Great classes and instructors, I like the e-gym and love the outdoor pool in the summer. Biggest bang for your buck!
Variety of yoga classes to choose from.

The variety of offerings and classes.
