Member Testimonials
State of the art facilities, convenient location, convenient hours, extremely helpful staff, friendly atmosphere
The pool is great, and almost always at the perfect temperature.
I love the staff in childwatch and the group exercise classes. Everyone is so caring and they truly brighten my day from the moment I walk in the door. I also love their passion for giving back to the local community. It’s a great place for families and my kids never want to leave. Thank you!
swimming & nice Y employees
I like the programs that are included in my membership. The Y is always clean, even the restrooms which is important to me. The front desk people are always friendly and ready to help. I take more classes right now than using the machines but when I do use the machines, I like the variety.
I love the classes. WC offers the most out of the other branches
Efficient. Clean. Pleasant. Well staffed. Good Parkinson's programs
I love the size of the gym! There are so many wonderful resources included in the membership too! Group fitness is one of my favorites. The staff is always friendly and helpful when needed.
Friendly staff
I like all the class options land or water based. Most instructors are good.

The variety and various time choices of group exercise classes.
I get a good workout and I enjoy the people
Ability to use multiple branches when I travel in the county
The West Chester YMCA has a great workout atmosphere. There’s a nice layout of workout equipment and ample machines to choose from. The classes are fun and scheduled at convenient times. My husband and I primarily went to the gym super early in the morning or late in the evening to workout. We rarely had any problems waiting to use a piece of equipment. There was also a sense of community and the staff were always friendly and polite. I would recommend this gym to anyone.
I like the free classes
Access to pools, steam room, classes, free child care while I work out (or relax) and Parents Night out. Friendly staff.
Even though my 'home' Y is Kennett, I love that I can go to other Y's because they usually have more available lap lanes, e.g. the WC Y. Swimming laps is the primary reason I have a Y membership.
Lots of different group exercise classes offered; have something different at the 5-6pm slot everyday which allows me to try everything and not get bored. Nice locker rooms. Fun activities like the sleigh with stickers. A lot of variety with the treadmills and ellipticals as well.
I love the state of the art equipment and facilities. I love the Zumba classes! But most of all I love the welcoming atmosphere and the care and kindness shown by the staff and instructors.
Receptionist in West Chester YMCA facility are very friendly, Gary is really friendly and provided necessary information. Also that facility children day care is good with indoor slide and play area.
Atmosphere is great. Staff is friendly.
I like the variety of exercise choices.
I always meet someone I know from the area. It's like the town square!
Great family programs - awesome swim teachers!!
Lots of options
I have already recommended YMCA to a friend and she joined!!!
Group classes
What do I like about my membership? Where do I begin. Everything that the YMCA has to offer from the classes offered, to childcare, parents night out, teen nights in at the Y. The classes and the instructors are the best and there are a ton of options offered. My kids join me at the YMCA to excercise. Sometimes we have enjoyed classes together like Spin and Body Pump. (They opted out of Zumba after watching me ....not sure why they were embarrassed? I was having a blast!) I love what the YMCA stands for and I appreciate what you do for our community and how you get all of the members involved. It makes me feel so good to help out any way I am able; from brininging in food to donate to local food banks, helping with the a donation to send a child to camp, donating blood at blood drives and volunteering when needed. As a young child, the YMCA allowed my siblings (and my mom) and I to take ballet, tap, and jazz; activities that our family could not afford otherwise. We are now in our 40's and 50's and we still remember and recite our dance songs and remember our dance moves. Thank you!

The ability to take classes without paying extra.
