There are so many activities available.

The staff is great and very friendly. My wife and I mostly use the Y to play pickleball and the West Chester Y is our favorite location.

They are available to Silver Sneakers members. I am from SC and enjoy your Y every time I visit.
However, I encountered a gentleman when attempting to play pickleball who asked me to leave the court because I was on waiting list. I explained I traveled. 600 miles to be here and wasn’t there some leeway to the rules. I tried to appeal to his holiday spirit since it was just before Christmas. He stated he wasn’t going to sit while I played p-ball as a waiting lister. Not the response I expected at the Y.

Lots of classes, lots of equipment to work with and hours are good.

The West Chester Area YMCA is an excellent facility providing numerous programs and activity selections. I, personally, enjoy participating in the early morning aquatic aerobic classes. The instructors are exceptionally good, fun and caring - as are the office staff that always have a warm greeting for you in the mornings. The water in both the Rec pool and the deep water pool are maintained clean and both pool temps are very tolerable. (I don't care to exercise in cold water!) My husband enjoys the equipment in the E-gym facility on the upper level. The entire facility is always well maintained and kept clean. It's a pleasure for both my husband and I to be able to participate in activities available at this Center.

A variety of classes are offered for different age groups and types of classes from Body Pump, Pilates and Fit Light (which is nice to have cardio and strength workouts). Water classes are also important because it is low impact exercise for all ages especially older folks and there is a variety offered. Instructors are good and trained to be concerned about safety. There is usually appropriate equipment and the facility is clean and well taken care of. Day care is a plus for ladies with children so they are free to exercise. Having pickleball and other sports is important also. The weight room is well equipped even for “Heavy Hitters”! Overall, West Chester is a great facility! Thanks, Nancy McMullen (former teacher at Conestoga High School where I worked out with the guys’ teams in the weight room after school on weights and cardio, forever. I hung in there, but after that retired to classes after getting tired of motivating myself to being led in a class…which is more fun!)

This YMCA branch is ran so well. We use the child watch frequently with our 3 year old. He absolutely loves it and all of them know him by name which is so nice and reassuring. We love going to all of the family events. We also love the outdoor pool. There are so many things for our kids to do. They love the pirate ship especially!

I like playing pickleball but beginning pickleball players need more indoor court time. When I try to sign up the sessions are full within a few seconds so I am constantly waitlisted.
