Group exercise classes are great!
Every instructor I met were fabulous!
The Greater Brandywine YMCA always seems to have something for everyone. Not only is it a fantastic gum but even more importantly, it’s a community center where my whole family feels connected and like we truly are getting the most out of our membership wow also being able to give back to others in our community when needed. My daughter loves all of the sports options, and I love the strength training equipment and cardio options. We are more than satisfied with our YMCA and love being part of this community. The staff are all so friendly and helpful and make you feel so welcome.
Love Kevin’s water aerobics
Many different types to suit different needs
We love the early learning center - especially our current teachers Mrs Natalia, Assia and Mrs Donna. Our daughter thrives at the ymca and we’ve had a fantastic experience from the infant room all the way through and into the Montessori classroom.
My son has been enrolled in the CELC since April 2024. Our family has loved our time here and my son is thriving. He is excited to go to school each morning, knows his teachers, and his class time routines. The Montessori classroom allows him to explore his environment and learn at a pace that works for him - he is able to choose the work and focus on age-appropriate activities that challenge his mind, gross and fine motor skills, and his social abilities.
The staff are kind and welcoming. Everyone says hello when you come into the building and wave as you walk down the hall. There is good camaraderie between the teachers, and I have personally enjoyed getting to know them on a professional and personal level.
Our favorite part about the program is that the school utilizes the full Y facility through all the extracurricular activities that are built into the school day. Swimming on Fridays, Zumba, yoga, reading, Spanish, to name a few. Even in bad weather, it is nice to know that the kids can get some wiggles out running around in the gym.
I am also grateful that the school has integrated optional after school activities. My son has loved his Little Explorers Club on Thursday afternoons. He comes home so proud of the treasures he found on his nature walk or the nature-themed art he made.
We are very thankful to be a part of the family at West Chester Y CELC. I would recommend it to anyone who asks about early childhood learning.
I like that you open early and the equipment is clean and the staff friendly.
Mr. Bret Kader has been a great grounding presence for our son as they have spent over 2 years in class together now. He talks about him fondly at home (unprompted) and was very concerned about when his return would be during Brett's (much deserved) paternity leave earlier this year. Its nice to feel confident our son trusts his teacher and feels safe in class.
Our daughter had a great run in the twos with Ms Stacey and is very excited to go to the big kid room! Stacey puts huge efforts into curating an interactive experience for kids at an age that can be really tough as they transition from babies into little people!!!!!
Many teachers (other than the "main" teachers) go out of the way to be so kind to our kids and even come up to me to discuss an interaction they had that day. We also have loved previous teachers and students that cycle through - BOTH ms Lauras, ms ana, ms brittney ms delanie BOTH ms donnas ms alix AND MORE.
**I did submit a survey earlier but it was very misleading with "submit" at the bottom of each section, so i was waiting for a "could be improved" or a "teacher shoutout" section and it was just over and done!
The CELC/Mont Classes having the opportunity to participate in yoga, gymnastics, zumba, music, sign language and swimming is such a great part of sending our kids to daycare here.
My whole family are members of YMCA for the last year and I can't say nothing but very good things about our experience. My son is attending YMCA's Montessori class and he came from "I don't want to go" to "You better drive me to my group today, Dad!". I see his interest and I see how do teachers care about kids and how their hard, important and active work delivers strong results. In overall, I would like to thank all of YMCA's staff members for your hard work to keep this place like home for so many people. We do really appreciate it.
The teachers are all very engaged and wonderful with the kids. I also really appreciate the diversity of activities they have in the classrooms (music, yoga, swimming, Spanish).
We love the childcare program at the YMCA! The teachers are nurturing, engaging, and reliable. We have been a part of the childcare for over 4 years now and couldn’t be happier. Our oldest was more than prepared for Kindergarten when he graduated from the Montessori program. Our other two children are learning and growing every day!
Amazing teachers and programs. Always feel like child is safe and learning. Compared to KinderCare it is a world of difference.
I love that my child gets exposure to Spanish Lessons, Swimming, Gymnastics, Yoga & Music while she’s in school.
We love all the enrichment programs at the WC YMCA CELC. Swim during school hours is a huge draw. The outdoor playground and nice daylight filled classrooms brought us out to airport road vs. the oscar lasko location. Music, yoga, and gymnastics are a big hit for our littles. Since we've settled in, the teachers have become engrained into our family's lives and it's hard to imagine raising our kiddos without their support. In particular: Laura (ones), Delanie, Brittany, Cynthia, Brett, Megan, Assia, Alex, Jennifer, Senora Welch, Bridget, Taylor
The YMCA has a variety of activities and classes.

We love childwatch, open swim, the child care preschool program, and cycle and body pump classes.

We really appreciate the programs and activities offered. The staff is incredibly kind, patient, and caring with our children, and it shows in how happy and comfortable they are each day. We’ve also been very impressed with the curriculum—our kids are learning so much and are exposed to a wide variety of experiences that support their development. Overall, the combination of a nurturing environment and thoughtful, engaging activities makes this program truly special.
Our family has loved being apart of the Y's Montessori program! We love our boy's teachers (Assia, Natalia Anna and Laura) and feel that they are doing an excellent job helping them grow academically, socially and emotionally. We are grateful for all that they have done for our boys and look forward to the remaining years they have with this program!
My children’s teachers have been so amazing, they really take the time to get to know my kids as individuals, which has been huge in my kids learning and development.
We love the teachers and the Montessori program for our boys. They are learning, growing, and responding so well to the structure. The teachers are dedicated and caring. We are so appreciative for their thoughtful approach to their daily routines and activities. It's also amazing the exposure they are getting to music, spanish, yoga, and swimming lessons included in the program.
The West Chester-Airport Road YMCA is simply amazing. Our children attend the Montessori school and they love it! The teachers are wonderful, kind, knowledgeable, and caring towards our children. We feel that it's an absolute blessing that our children get to attend the school and we also love the facility. We 100% recommend that any parent should consider bringing their children to attend the Montessori!
There is always someone there to help. Friendly atmosphere. Plenty of class options. The place is very clean. Great hours.
I like the weight/exercise areas. Very good equipment, clean and friendly staff
Our family is heavily involved with WCA CELC, Montessori and Summer Camp offerings, as well as the OLY/Greater Brandywine Gymnastics team. We love the wide range of activity offerings and the facility itself. We also really enjoy the outdoor the indoor pools. But what is truly unmatched is the staff at WCA and OLY, and the YMCA community members.
The daycare at the YMCA has been fantastic for our children. We have had a very positive experience with all the teachers and staff and highly recommend their center. Our children are always happy at dropoff/pickup and have been learning new things every day.

I have been asking for years - literally years - for the YMCA to better encourage members to share swim lanes. Put up signs with the expectations we have of sharing, especially when times are busy. Or, on busy days/early morning hours on weekends in the winter, dedicate ~5 lanes as "sharing lanes" so people know that if that lane is open, you are expected to share. It can work on a first come, first served basis. This time of year is always busy with swim meets reducing our swim times, and kids being home from school. No better time than now than to implement some of these practices to create awareness about the need to share and/or to encourage members to being open to sharing so people are not sitting on the bleachers getting cold, and waiting for a lane to open.
It is not that hard...
