My daughter's math education was, like most students, impacted by COVID. I found her struggling with some concepts that are foundational for high school math and beyond. Mathnasium has helped her to improve her foundation and they have tailored her current semester to align with her in-class math at school It is so encouraging to hear her say that her math assignment was "easy" and she had already seen the concepts in Mathnasium.
Our kids are improving a lot in math and also their confidence. I like the summary learning reports to know what topics they have covered and achieved.
Michael and Cathy are knowledgable, have the kids best interests at heart and are accommodating of schedule changes.

Mathnasium has helped my daughter catch up on the math skills she missed over Covid. After 10 months of attending Mathnasium, she sees a huge difference in her math abilities. Her confidence and attitude towards math has improved immensely and so have her school math marks. She is in gr 7 and has requested to continue attending Mathnasium next school year as she understands how much the extra support helps her in school. Cathy and Michael have been wonderful to deal with and I am so happy we found Mathnasium.
My kid loves it here and keeps a great passion for it.
Small groups, 1: 3 adult to child ratio, work completed is aligned with the school, regaular updates, parents know what has been completed and what is coming up, 3 x 1hr committement, no homework, so much better for our child than the last place we dealt with.
We’ve had a great start so far. Our daughter seems to be gaining some confidence and is more willing to keep working on her math as that confidence grows. Looking forward to watching this growth continue!

We enrolled our son at Mathnasium of SW Calgary at the beginning of his grade 6 year. He had always done ok at Math through elementary, receiving decent grades, but we could tell there were obvious holes in his learning and his initial assessment at Mathnasium revealed them.
Mathnasium created him his own specialized learning plan and with their support and help he got to work. It took time because of the gaps in his learning but when they finished teaching him his grade 5/6 curriculum and tested his knowledge retention he scored almost 100%. We were over joyed! He had gone from a kid who didn’t like math to it being his strongest subject.
In this time frame Covid hit and knowing the struggles our son had faced because of the learning gaps he had acquired we enrolled our daughter in their program as well. She had also started to mumble to us how she didn’t like math. It wasn’t that she didn’t like it, she was beginning to not understand some of the concepts. Her gains in math have been tremendous and because she started at an earlier age she didn’t have to catch up on the learning gaps her brother did. She is now exceptional at math and is very proud of what her hard work has given her.
We made the commitment to their learning and have kept them both in the Mathnasium @home program since. With the individualized learning plans, support and teaching of Mathnasium as well as the own efforts both are now very confident in their math skills. They are at the top of their classes and their fluency in math is beyond what would be achievable with just school teachings alone.
The owners of Mathnasium of SW Calgary Cathy, Michael and Paige are excellent at what they do. They are fully invested in our children and all their students. They truly care not just about math achievements but how their students are holistically, always helping us juggle our dynamic schedule for our kids other activities and cheering them on too!! Cathy, Michael and Paige are truly amazing individuals and their commitment and passion for math fluency is unparalleled.
What they have done for our kids is absolutely priceless. I thank them almost on a weekly basis. It is so comforting to have the assurance our son and daughter are excelling in math and as we navigate through adolescence it is one less thing for us as parents to worry about.
If you are on the fence about enrolling in their program my suggestion to you is to stop waiting. It is one of the best educational decisions we have made.

You assess the child to see what their foundation is like and then you move forward with other learning blocks. Our daughter feels confident and supported with the small tutor to student ratio.
