Student Testimonials
I loved how welcoming the CorePower staff was my first visit to the studio. Not only did I love the class, but I was also looking for a yoga mat to purchase and was appreciated the staff member did not try to sell me the most expensive mat!
Clean and great instructors!
Great instructors and convenient class times.
Lunchtime classes! Good instruction. Convenient location.
Loved the teacher! I forget her name but she was great. It was the 6pm class.
Good class, sweaty, modifications as needed.
Sometimes the locker room is very dirty and class doesn’t start on time. Otherwise a wonderful workout
Excellent instructors.
staff was super nice and helpful! great experience
Class was wonderful, staff was friendly and helpful. Only reason for a 9 is that the class and locker room space was a little too crowded for my personal liking.
Teacher was very helpful for helping with my sign up and gift card purchase. Also very nice and helpful setting up my boyfriend with this first week free. Amazing quality class. Clean environment, great retail. Thank you!
CPY is fantastic. I sing its praises to all of my friends and have become totally hooked. Yoga sculpt truly is the best workout around to improve toning, muscular endurance, and strength.
A few suggestions from a devoted CPY yogini:
--It would be great if the Sculpt classes in Dupont were scheduled with only 30 minutes in between rather than 45, especially in the evenings. City Center has back-to-back classes in the morning with only a 15 minute break, which enables students who want to do a double class to not have to wait around. The Georgetown Studio has only a 30 minute break in between its classes. The studio and locker room empty out quickly enough that it shouldn't be an issue in terms of traffic flow. For weeknight evenings, 4:15 and 5:45 or 4 pm and 5:30 would really be fantastic. It also would be awesome to have back-to-back classes on the weekends, such as a 2:30 pm and 4 pm (instead of the 6 pm) or the 8 am and a 9:30 am.
--Relatedly, the 5:45 Sculpt class is usually packed. There have been days when students walk into the studio 5-10 minutes after class has begun, there is no room for additional mats, and participants are forced to interrupt their flow to make room for latecomers. It would be much appreciated if there were a consistent policy on not allowing people to enter the room after class starts and also perhaps even a limit on the number of students who can take class. It is possible to squeeze a lot of folks into the studio, but at a certain point there really is no room for more. It's frustrating to have to move your mat and weights while you're in the middle of a sequence.
--Most teachers are very good at starting class on time, but often a flux of late-arriving students forces them to start late. Again, it would be helpful to have a policy on late arrivals and another person at the desk who can handle latecomers rather than have the instructor there. It's frustrating for those who arrive early that other students' late arrivals force class to start late, which can lead to some segments of the sequence being cut or the class ending extremely late. On the opposite end of the spectrum, there are some instructors who seem to rush through class and not do all of the usual tracks that a normal sculpt class would include. Of course each instructor has the freedom to design his/her own sequence (and that's why CPY is so great because you can get a mix of styles/workouts from different instructors). That said, given the extremely high price point of CPY classes, it is frustrating to go into a class expecting an hour-long workout and only getting 40-45 minutes because the instructor seemingly doesn't have enough material planned to fill the 60 minutes. The students who take Yoga Sculpt by definition want something more intense than a regular vinyassa class, and it's disappointing if the class ends 15 minutes early or if you spend the last 15 minutes of class in savasana. There needs to be a bit more consistency about what constitutes a full class and the exercises expected.
Thank you for the wonderful experience at CPY and for considering this feedback!
