I am a small-group tutor at a private school in Portland, where I have been working with a student one-on-one in Math for about 1 1/2 years. She joined Mathnasiuim when she began working with me. Over time, she has spoken with me happily about Mathnasium, and has shown me several things she learned as a Mathnasium student. Mathnasium seems to me to excel in assessing just where a student is in their math journey and making a solid plan to help them learn the next skills step-by-step. The atmosphere on site is positive and comfortable for the students. Finally, Mathnasium does a good job of assessing students' progress and informing parents (and teachers, if parents wish) about the student's progress. I would recommend Mathnasium highly to any parent whose child is below grade level or overwhelmed in the classroom. This is a step-by-step program that is both highly organized and friendly; an excellent combination.

My son was really struggling with concurrent enrollment Math 1050. He tells me this 4 days before the final exam that he is probably going to get a D. IN a panic, I started calling around for a math tutor. The first place I called said that he needed to take a test first and then be enrolled in a session. I called Mathnasium and why they also offer a similar option, they are also willing to do a la carte single sessions (or as many as you need) with a private tutor. They bent over backward to get us in the next day were so helpful in accommodating us on such short notice! WE had a few sessions with them and it gave my son so much help and confidence for the final exam! I will definitely use them again with my other children!
Mathnasium and Mr. G are awesome! My son’s math skills and confidence have improved tremendously in only one month! The curriculum sticks, and the work doesn’t stress my son out, which is huge! My son (age 6) is a little ahead in math. I'm not a math person by nature and wanted to make sure he had access to activities and learning that would keep him interested. He LOVES going his 'Math Class' and is so proud of what he's learning! He made us buy a clock to hang on the wall and announces to everyone who visits what time it is. He enjoys earning prizes and asks often whether or not it is a 'math day'.
