Customer Testimonials
Josh is having a ton of fun learning from your music teachers and being able to perform. He is happy with you all for sure and so are we as parents.
Quality instructors.
Great teachers and that the kids learn to play music with others.
It’s great for creating a sense of self—confidence.
It’s also a very positive environment.
We love the personal instruction paired with band rehearsal. The staff is optimistic and cheerful. Our son was terrified of performing and now loves it!
I love the whole idea of it -- that adults can also enjoy the amateur and learning experience that the kids do. And there is room for improvement. My suggestions:
Band practice usually does not begin until 8:15pm. The tone is set by the instructors. I would prefer if we were punctual and if finish early, to leave at 9:45pm. btw many of us would prefer an earlier start. Many of us who work and have families are tired later in the evening; starting at 7pm would be much better. I know you have teen groups, but it isn't so easy for adults and I notice a lot of people will skip practice because they are tired. I know you tried the earlier time for Fridays -- but the problem with it is that it IS Friday. The end of the work week, a social or family time for dinner. I bet if that early time was a Thursday or Monday you would have more participants.
For lessons, it would be good if the instructor knew what room we were in, had the room set up, his guitar tuned before I arrived. This all happens at the time of my lesson and therefore, takes time away from my lesson. I have suggested before that the instructor knows the song they are about to teach me and that my part is already written out. This does mean more work for your instructor because they would have to do this outside of the lesson. Maybe they need to be paid for their time.
Thanks!
It has been great for our son to learn a variety of genres and songs with different techniques. He is getting a solid rock education, no pun intended!
The instructors seem awesome -- not only talented but also great communicators with kids and teens, which is even more important.
Love the 1:1 plus group aspect. The group lessons have been key for our son ... he is really shy and was hesitant to do that part, but once he started, it became his favorite part, and really something he looks forward to every week. Overall, he looks forward to School of Rock so much and is has become very willing to practice every day ... I think the group lesson aspect motivates him.
I think School of Rock is a great environment for kids to get exposure to great music, great instructors and also have a lot of fun with other kids.
Excellent extra curricular activity!!! Talented instructors and good management
Great staff and supportive, accepting community.
We have been very impressed with SOR in Plano. My son loves it and has learned a lot in just a few months. Everyone there is so friendly and knowledgeable. We highly recommend SOR in Plano.
Good teachers
My child is happy, improving and motivated. Staff is kind and easy to work with.
Our daughter loves her teachers! And getting to play in a real show is so exciting to her.
Love the organized bands! As we have been doing this awhile and the school has grown so much, it would be nice to see perf band reorganized a bit. Would love to see high school perf band and middle school perf band broken up, so they are 2 different bands. We understand so many moving parts. Not enough staff to do this I am sure. Hope for the future. I love that we have been coming since he was 8, and he has never once asked to stop.
Inclusive of all personalities and abilities.
Great school, program and staff
Everyone is very supportive and helps each other.
They're very engaging and kids work with instructors and their peers.
SOR offers a less structured, more fun way to learn music. The seasonal shows are also a great opportunity to learn about performing in front of a crowd and showmanship, which builds self-confidence.
Great teachers who encourage the students to keep growing in their misic journey
It’s a great program for young musicians to play music together as opposed to just at home by themselves!
I love that everything is a team effort, and that the instructors are willing to take time and work with you to make sure you’re doing the best you can!
It’s also a very welcoming experience where you can make some really good friends :)
This is my second feedback in the last few days ; Apologies for goofing up the last time as I was trying to multitask while boarding a flight;
SOR for my child has been a second home and family and they have played a great role in her development of not only vocal skills but have contributed greatly in her character growth; she has metamorphosed into a confident young woman from an unsure teenager over the years ; I would especially like to call out Joey Cassata for his constant encouragement to the students , Joey Walsh, Brie, Kristen, Benji for being wonderful teachers and guides in Avni’s development ; School of Rock Clark is a place of growth for every student there.
Great personnel, From the front desks people to the instructors..
Love their teaching methods.. Get the young musicians right into a band and perform live..
Me and the wife enjoy more than the kids i think.. lol..
I've already referred two new adult students. Sam has done a tremendous job getting a handle on what was previously a poorly run and chaotic environment. She shows tremendous empathy and is very easy to work with. Having Andrew working fulltime at the front was also a great move. He is incredibly knowledgeable and well respected, presenting a great face for the School of Rock brand.
This past adult season under Sam's leadership has been my best season so far at School of Rock.
Some suggestions:
1) The school is badly in need of rennovations. Some of the practice rooms are a bit shoddy and not a good representation for SoR.
2) You need more instructors, especially non-guitar. It's hard to find open lesson times and make-up lessons are near impossible because everyone is overloaded.
3) You should solicit input from the adults for the season themes. We're pickier than the kids and the choice of The Beatles for next season has already caused multiple adult students to drop. Listen to your customers.
4) Still need more comfortable chairs in the front room! Adult band was full and sitting on hard metal chairs for two hours in not pleasant.
Greatest program overall!
I enjoy the rehearsals to keep you accountable. I also like that each instructor has a different style of teaching and I’ve learned a unique skill from each one I worked with.
Tess has found the program to be one where she can challenge her creativity while refining & learning new skills. She’s clearly been surrounded by positive & encouraging mentors.
Great staff. All instructors and management are very pleasant and professional. My daughter loves it there. The atmosphere is always welcoming and friendly.
