We were at a loss on what to do with our son. We tried every sport and it never stuck. We decided to give SOR a try and our son loved it. Once he was old enough to move into Rock 101, we decided to try private lessons as well but didn’t know which one. Our son was interested mainly in drums and the guitar, talking with Alison, she recommended drums based on our sons personality. She also was able to pair him with the perfect instructor for him, they have so much in common and our guy has learned SO much. We are more then impressed

I just wanted you to know that, although my son really is a boy of few words, he unleashed a plethora of compliments about Alan after his bass lesson this past Thursday. He explained that Alan is the G.O.A.T. of bass and if he asked a question Alan knows the answer and can demonstrate immediately. My son included all the fancy, flying finger demonstrations, supplemented with elaborately mouthed sound effects when describing Alan's abilities. And at the end of all this he said "Alan is my favorite teacher. He's nice and funny." I know this might not sound like a huge deal, but believe me when I say it is a HUGE DEAL. My son almost NEVER compliments ANYBODY. He is typically lukewarm at best. So, Alan must have left a tremendous impression on him. Thank you for teaching him and for having such a positive influence. And thank you for being a fantastic role model for him.

They structure each class to be very engaging. While it is a different way of learning, it has kept my teenage son eager to practice at home and go back each week. Must be doing something right.
I love my voice teacher, Olivia. She is so knowledgeable about every aspect of singing. I feel like I’m improving technically, but I’m also discovering the type of singer I am. She’s excellent!!!
Sam continues to turn School of Rock Plano into a model for what School of Rock represents. She should be commended for her new Merit-based Casting with our Adult band. Prior to this chage, our Adult band would sit around bored for 2 hours playing only 3 or 4 times, with plenty of songs having roles filled by instructors.
The Merit-based casting turned this around. We're literally playing close to non-stop all night. Everyone is more engaged and collaborating together on songs in the green room. And it gets instructors out of filling roles as much as possible. School of Rock is supposed to be "performance-based music education", and this new casting methodology turns that up to 11. This should be the model for all School of Rock's.
I also really appreciate Sam's willingness to have the tough conversations. As one of the more outspoken adult band members, Sam has always appreciated the feedback, good or bad, and always acts on it.
School of Rock Plano still needs to up the talent bar for instructors, but I'm confident Sam will make it happen. And the school is still in need of a serious renovation. It looks dated and doesn't accurately convey your brand message. Enrollement appears to be growing, so maybe even an expansion is in order, at least ensuring two full-sized rehearsal rooms and more rooms for private instruction that are better equipped. And please take some sympathy on my sore butt and get more comfortable chairs in the green room.
It's a long way to the top if you want to Rock & Roll, but Sam is getting School of Rock Plano within arm's reach.

The interaction with the kids. My daughter loves it. I do miss the emails telling me what they did this week. It’s very informative so I can discuss songs with her.

Kids love the rehearsals, they feel like they have their own band.
Great staff. The instructors and management are experienced, fun, personable, and professional. The atmosphere and facility are fun and funky. The kids are getting excellent training and experience, as evidenced by the annual rock concert, where kids of all ages are already rocking out, or rock gods to come. I'm in my 70's, and just started playing an electric guitar for the first time. I'm pretty clumsy and slow, but my instructor is patient and encouraging. I love being able to scratch out little bits of some of my favorite classic rock songs. I'm sending my grandkids to the School of Rock as soon as one opens in or near Greenville, SC.
The staff… and formation of bands.
My daughters have showed great growth in a very short time and they really like their teachers. The ability to play as a group is also a great way of developing their overall skill and performance.
I enjoy the performance based learning. You have more accountability and drive to improve your skills because you’re in a band and want to put the work in to not let your members down. I also enjoy it’s a safe place to make mistakes in rehearsals so you can come back with improvements without a loss of confidence. Everybody is nice and pretty positive as well. It’s nice instructors break the songs down and give feedback on how we can improve as a group. I’ve enjoyed it a lot more than I thought I would have and feel I’ve made some life long friends.
ease of access
Great choice of songs. I’d suggest to use songs by the greatest Freddie Mercury and Klaus Meine for singers with wide range singing abilities.
My daughter just recently started taking Guitar. I love how she got in the car the first day and said she wished she could go right back in for more lessons. Tyler is a very talented and chill instructor. I am extremely thankful we found School of Rock!
Great staff, friendly relaxed professional atmosphere.
My son Zach has grown so much since starting School of Rock! He’s starting to get stage presence and comfortable performing in front of others. The teachers are awesome, especially Ian. We’re glad to be a part of this community!

Ever Since I joined SOR in Frisco I feel like I am closer to my goal. I play drums and sing there and I want to move more forward with music.

Before I joined School of Rock, I had not sung for five years. My first lessons were taken with Haley and Elle from School of Rock, who were extremely helpful in strengthening my singing voice. After the lessons, I joined the Adult Band, which is led by Alex and Haley. They are both amazing at what they do! I also made new friends and felt a lot more confident with my singing. I am currently in my third season with the adult band and plan to continue with more seasons.

I am enjoying the GRUB program and the freedom we are given to explore our talents and grow as a band. The staff from day one has been amazing and I really do appreciate the opportunity to be involved and play out in different venues. Which makes this school exciting and unique!
The program incentives learning and playing in a group. It is done in a fun atmosphere that encourages all to participate. It is a great confidence builder and the bonus of learning to play the instrument more is great to see.

Everything is good so far as I just started bringing my son for his drum lessons so the staff including of course the instructors and the atmosphere!
