Customer Testimonials
This school is incredible!
The teachers are great at helping us students find ways to get over our roadblocks in learning new things. All the students of all ages seem great and supportive of all the fellow music lovers. It is a great community, and supportive in our learning path.
I love the family-like atmosphere, where everyone is celebrated for their unique gifts.
My son loves every minute he is there!
Kids are engaged and having fun learning a new skill and challenging their brain in a way school education does not.
You Rock!
It is that simple.
My son got the chance to experience the energy of playing in a rock band. It creates both an outlet for his creativity and a kid-friendly setting to apply the musical techniques he learns on the instruments.
Most of it he has tons of fun!
Great to see SoR Plano stable again. Alex has done a great job righting the ship and I really like the new GM, Sam. Looking forward to a great time at SoR. You just need to add more of the comfortable chairs in the waiting area for the huge bands.
I like how much my kid enjoys it which tells me they know how to teach all age levels with appropriate levels of fun and instruction.
Friendly staff. Kids were encouraged to be creative and have fun.
My kid is excited to go to camp everyday and walks out with excitement when I pick him up. I figured the technology camp would have been his favorite this summer, but it’s this camp!
I would definitely 💯 recommend sending your child to School of Rock summer camp. My daughter is new to guitar and was EXTREMELY nervous 😩 but now she does not want to leave…she’s super happy to perform today but sad it’s her last day! Yes 🙌 we will be back next year! We also plan on taking classes.
Maybe when we get back in town if camps are still happening she can jump back in and ROCK with you‼️
My 7 year old daughter recently started drum lessons. Jeremy is so encouraging and fun as a teacher. Abby always greets us warmly at the front desk and has been really accommodating with scheduling needs.
I love the teambuilding and sense of camaraderie that is encouraged in the group classes. My son has really come out of his shell since attending School Of Rock and I could not be happier with the instruction. In addition to the social ability that is encouraged. I’m so glad we found the school, and cannot wait to see the potential. My child reaches under the instruction here.
Rock 101 camp is so much fun! The kids learn a variety of instruments and make lifelong friendships. What a wonderful place. My son attended for multiple years. It’s his favorite part of summer break!
So sad to say goodbye. It has been a second home for our son these 12 years and he and our family will truly miss all the phenomenal teachers and management and watching the performances. Bryan is the reason our son decided to continue with his music 12 years ago after he had quit another program and declared he was done with drums. Bryan is a wonderful role model, kind, professional, knowledgeable and a crazy talented musician in his own right. Along the way our son has had other many amazing teachers such as Trevor for bass and Steve for vocals. Again we are blown away by their amazing talent and teaching skills. Ait has been such a wonderful performance band director who allows all the students to shine and puts on amazing shows; again a very talented musician.
And a big part of what makes the Highwood School so exceptional is the management ..from Bryan the musical director to Maggie the over all manager and Danielle the Highwood operations manager. They are very professional, patient, and kind. I would encourage anyone who may have any concerns or questions to reach out to them.
And as a parent the things that matter the most in a program for my son are all here!! It has been fulfilling and made our son very happy, the instructors are reliable and excellent, the teachers and management truly care about my son, our son has learned great life skills of being a team player and working with students of various backgrounds, he has made life long friends, he has played at great venues and events, he has had a place to go outside of school and our neighborhood where he feels accepted and welcome, and he has become a phenomenal very skilled adaptable musician who can read music, and plays multiple instruments and in many genres.
It was fun! The teachers were nice and gave good advice. I improved my skills.
13 yo guitar player
the staff is so welcoming and hard working, they make you feel right at home with everyone and do whatever they can to help.
One on one sessions and band rehearsal for teens.
We had a great experience and it made it easy to transition into an instrument.
Great teachers, variety of programs. Flexible schedules
The teachers all seem to be patient and encouraging. The whole vibe of the place is very inclusive and supportive.
My son and daughter have both been students of SOR. Currently my son takes guitar and bass lessons including two performance sessions. He has learned and grown so much as a musician and person. This year he made the House Band which seems to be the goal of many students and the experience for him has been invaluable. He went away this summer on tour and had the most amazing time. It is hard to trust people with you child but we knew that Monica and Dylan would keep him safe along with having plenty of fun. I recommend to anyone who loves music to start with SOR! They have many programs to offer your child!
Great atmosphere, caring tutors, enthusiastic kids!
The staff was helpful and encouraging.
The summer group bands are a great experience, very motivating and a lot of fun
The teachers and staff are amazing!
Great instructors, reasonable timing flexibility, responsive team.
The chance to jam with others musicians, the facilities and equipment and the evening hours.
My son’s talent and confidence have grown exponentially since joining school of rock, but even better, he’s found a band of brothers and sisters. The school is truly shaping lives and futures and I’m grateful he is a part of of it. - Andy
