Great teaching in a fun environment. Unique approach to instruction. Learning music & group dynamics.
This location in Wilmington runs like a well oiled machine, from the front desk to the owner to the individual music teachers and band leaders. My daughter loves music and S0R helped foster that love.
The programs are a great way for the kids to learn about music and performing as a band/team. The staff is great and interacts with the kids on a level that makes practice enjoyable and fun. My child has attended many camps over the years, rookies, Rock 101, and is now starting performance groups. This is literally the only activity that he agrees to continue over and over again.
Your staff is amazing and your location is great. The only negative I could see for some folks is the initial fee to set up an account was a bit strange and not like any program I have had my kids participate in. Your lessons are a bit expensive relative to other places so I worry that the program is a little cost prohibitive for some. Other than that it's absolutely amazing and I would highly recommend it to anyone!
The School of Rock program is unlike any other program . They have excellent teachers, many extra programs and events to choose from. My daughter is blessed to have Jeff for her drum lessons. He is kind, knowledgeable and a awesome musician skilled in many instruments. He has a unique way of teaching children and making it fun.
one on one lessons
Good community of staff and students. Good pedagogical philosophy leading with performance and teaching kids songs they can get excited about learning right away - in combination with technical assignments. Excellent staff and teachers who love what they do and share that enthusiasm with their students.
El profesionalismo de los docentes y la cercanía con los niños
Amazing program, instructors and all around experience!!!
Great confidence boost to the kids. Fun, learning environment.
My daughter loves the programs at School of Rock, teachers are friendly and always with positive vibes.
School of Rock is great at helping young people gain the confidence they need to play solo and in a group. The instructors are patient and encouraging.
Me gusta la dinámica
Mi hijo sale feliz de sus clases
The programs are built around the kids and their talents. The older kids working with the younger, less experienced kids, makes for a great environment.
School of Rock manages to do something really difficult - create a corporate franchise that creates a solid musical base and personal connection for each musician. My autistic son has done seven shows at the Burbank location and we can't wait to sign up for programs at our new home in Portland. The fun part is seeing kids perform at iconic venues, like the Troubadour in LA, setting them on the path to playing like a pro.
Fun, nurturing environment and helps build kids' confidence and embraces individuality!
Our daughter enjoyed her vocal / band lessons here. I am very pleased.
The school's approach is methodical, efficient and kids-friendly. They are punctual and accommodative of summer time-off requests. Ms. Francesca was wonderful and has a supportive teaching style.
The end of season shows has been a pleasurable and rewarding experience!
Highly recommend checking them out!
Tudo!
I love the flexibility to be able to go to any class at any location and everyone is on the same page.
The instructors are amazing along with Gaby keeping everything organized.
1) I like that my child is excited to learn to play music that he loves.
2) Generally, SOR Knoxville has good vibes: the staff seems genuinely invested in teaching the students and being there for them, and the students seem to really WANT to be there and like the teachers and staff.
3) I love the rock band programs: the students are creating something together, they are learning together, and they are forging friendships. All of this is the best example of positive peer pressure because students want to show up for their peers. And I love that at the end of the 4 months, they actually perform and they DO IT!
4) Self confidence can't be given to a child: it must be earned. SOR is as much a business of character-building as it is performance instruction: I feel very fortunate that my children have this experience to gain self confidence.
This is a great opportunity for kids to learn instruments with other kids to form a band, learn what it is like to be in a group. It is a different style of team work and another opportunity to make wonderful friends.
I love that the kids don’t just learn how to play an instrument one on one, but actually learn how to play within a band. They are challenged to play with kids who have more experience than them and develop the courage to perform on stage. It has been a life changer for my daughter.
Excellent staff very helpful and professional.
The teachers and performance based lessons are the best. Students are not only learning to play their instruments well but more importantly, having fun playing together, making good friends along the way and gaining invaluable experience onstage. Does wonders to a child’s confidence and attention to discipline and camaraderie. Huge effort from the staff to put in shows every quarter, but great performances each time.
The teachers are very patient and kind with my son.
My daughter lives the performance program
