Student Testimonials
I like the teachers, and the schedule becasue there are classes of different types throughout the day and evening. Also I like that the schedule is stable, so that you can count on your favorite classes always being there.
Friendly and helpful staff
Love the attention each instructor puts in their their class. Great feedback and constant assistance to ensure we are in the right position/best form.
Excellent teachers ! Friendly environment.
I love yoga sculpt. Followed by hot fusion. I am not a fan of hot yoga.
The majority of instructors are excellent.
The facility is clean and pleasant. Please fix the one bench in the ladies room. It is seriously wobbly and has been for a long time. It’s not really safe for anyone with mobility issues.
Instructor on Sunday was awesome- Jacqi
Great class
The instructors are so knowledgeable and positive.
Studio was clean and very nice. Class size was small and personal.
The C2 is the right amount of challenge physically and zen mentally to be the best class for me. I love all the instructors I’ve have the pleasure to meet also.
Exceptional Instructors!!
Professional instructors and a schedule with a lot of options.
There is a good depth of teachers at Nevada and GoG. That's the primary reason I have kept my membership for a third year now.
Great teacher and nice facility
You offer a good variety of classes at times that are convenient for my schedule.
I like that my Core Power membership allows me to come here when I travel to Colorado Springs to visit my son.
I wanted to offer Sarra some feedback from her 5pm C2 class at Colorado Springs' Nevada studio on 20-Feb-2018:
You are a strong, energetic and supportive instructor and your love for yoga and the students is clear to see. Your classes are both challenging and supportive.
I have a couple of suggestions that I fully acknowledge are based on my subjective observations and are simply offered are things to consider:
(1) the music in your class is supportive of your flow but the music seems very loud to me; your voice also projects very well but your voice together with the loud music sometimes provide too much sensory input for me. I have experienced this before with one or two other instructors on a regular basis and when I offered feedback was told that it might have been my positioning in the studio relative to the audio speakers - this might be true; however, it also might be that the music was just a little too loud. I realize that you cannot please everybody so I realize that I am only offering my perspective; I don't know if you have received feedback from other students.
(2) you offer excellent, intelligent cues for postures and transitions; I think I would appreciate a little more uncued space - perhaps this is somewhere where less is better, especially on the first visit/side of an asana. Perhaps mix reminding previous cues with replacing some of those with a few new cues that support the 2nd side during a slow flow. Maybe the cues can also reflect the class theme. The theme of your class on Tuesday, if I understood it (I might not have), was to do what we needed for ourselves; you said that your role that night was just to hold space for us. Yet I felt like there were so many cues that I felt overly drawn into your experience as the instructor - and I'm not sure if that was where you wanted me/us to be.
We don't have much time during flowing 1 breath/movement to consider/implement/realize too many cues - so that might even be time to cue breath and posture and drop cues. Of course this was my experience and I know that you were offering suggestions for us to consider for ourselves. So there's a balance. Anyhow, just my $0.02.
(3) Lastly I would suggest naming the postures that you are guiding us into; some of us move more slowly than others - and we all move differently than one another. Moreover I think transitions is one area where students really explore what they need in their practice that day/night. So instead of regularly cueing through the transitions that you have in your mind, perhaps name the next posture and then offer some ways of getting there. I found myself at times not sure of where you were taking us because I wasn't following your transition cues. This particular suggestion that I am offering might be based on one or both of my points above: perhaps I didn't hear the next asana (perhaps due to the music volume) ... or perhaps I lost the asana name amidst the transitional cues. But I do think for a class that, if I understood, was themed around finding what we needed for ourselves, cueing through many of the transitions might not have supported your theme as you had intended. I apologize for dwelling on this point of not hearing/understanding the next asana in case this was due solely to my inability to hear what you said.
Finally I would like to repeat that I understand that my experience might be mine alone. I know that I am different from all other students. Your class was solid and challenging and I am very happy to have been present for your class. I thought your cues were meaningful and intelligent. I think much of what you did would have really supported a theme on transitions where you intentionally gave many suggestions (cues) for transitions- but even in such a class I would recommend making sure that the students understand where you are leading them (what's the next asana that I'm transitioning to?) so that they can find their own way (or intentionally opt to take-on your way) of getting there.
