I was given one of the worst haircuts in my life there.
My sons stylist was Marcella and she was excellent. However I was disappointed that on a day before school was to start only 3 stylists were on giving us over an hours wait. Some of the other staff did not appear to be very effective and one in particular was making things more difficult by taking customers out of order.(Carmel)
Where to begin? I got a free haircut offer for first-time customers at the Somers Point Sports Clips. I figured I'd give it a shot. After all, all I require is a number 2 shave on the sides, blended into a number 3 on the top and a number 5 in the front. Somehow, the person cutting my hair was unable to perform this simple request. She was scared to take too much off the top and I had to explain to her how a haircut is supposed to look. She seemed afraid to cut hair but was finally able to provide me with a cut that I could at least be seen with in public. Prior to having my hair cut, I removed my tie, which she proceeded to accidentally dump talc on. Then she stated she was going to wash it off with water, which you can't do to a silk tie. I told her to stop and a more experienced employee gave her a brush to use. I got may hair cut a week ago and already need it cut again because, unbeknownst to my hairdresser, hair grows back, which is why it needs to be cut in the first place. I understand that this was a free haircut, but I still feel like I overpaid because I'm a good tipper and felt like I should give this woman some money since she will inevitably be unemployed in the very near future unless she learns how to cut hair. So, that's how you disappointed me.

The total service
When asked how long of a wait, was told 5-10minutes. Was checked in by the manager. Sat for about 20minutes and watched other people walk in and get taken back. Thought maybe they had appointments. I finally spoke up....when the girl checked we had never been signed in. There were multiple people training. I thought this was very unprofessional. My sons hair cut was acceptable. The young lady was friendly and did a decent job. I will probably give one more try as it is conveniently located. There are definitely some major kinks that need worked out before I would ever recomend someone.

everything, and my hair dresser was awesome!!!
There were three hair cutters but only one, the owner, knew how to cut hair. Trained hair cutters are desperately needed. I would be glad to use Sportclips if, and only if, the owner did my haircut. I do wish the owner success but it will be a struggle to get staffed with fully trained cutters.
