Ina Frost was exceptional. He took the time to explain all facets of the inspection as we went thought the home.
Knowing the age of the home and the type of foundation, I would have hoped for a more thorough inspection of it. It should be realized prior to inspection that the opening to view the foundation on an old home might be a little small. Maybe the termite inspector could have crawled in to insoect for termite damage as well!
The job of the inspector is to review all accessible areas of the component within the property and report on the condition. If through the assessment the inspector feels necessary for repairs to be made, it is then suggested for further review by a contractor to specify those needs. It is not the duty of the inspector to provide scope within the assessment. The inspector saw enough through visible sections to suggest further review by a contractor and wrote,
"Excessive cracking with evidence of movement noted at multiple areas. Suggest further review by
a qualified contractor with any repairs/ resealing necessary."
The inspector performed his due diligence with regard to this matter as it aligns within the scope of an ASHI inspection.
