The best element is that the Blum Y caters to a broad range of members, from old to young etc. The challenge is that this complex clientele brings with it occasional disruption and rude behavior that can diminish the quality of the overall experience. Current management does a valiant job of dealing with the challenge but is not completely successful. The other flaw is that maintenance of the facility is good, but not excellent. Some of the problem may be staff competence, but other is that investment in the physical facility seems slow and at times erratic. However, still, the Blum YMCA must rank among the best in the country in terms of services and community support.
