I have been going to Fitness Together in Beverly for nine years now, and it’s the best decision I have ever made as far as my health is concerned. When my son advised me that as a retired person, I needed to start moving to stay in both good physical and mental health, I wasn’t sure what to do. I did know that I did not want to go to one of those big, impersonal gyms that are always advertising on TV. My wife was going to a women’s gym at the time, and she asked if there was a gym I could go to. Somebody at her gym recommended Fitness Together.
So I went there and met with the owner. I explained that I was in terrible physical shape and was having a lot of back issues. He listened carefully and said that he had a program that could help me. I should mention that the owner is also an excellent trainer. I signed up for three personal (one-on-one) training sessions a week. No matter which trainer I got to work with, they were all wonderful. They gave me a series of exercises to help with my back problems. I looked forward to seeing my trainer three days a week. They were very knowledgeable about the human body and would explain how each exercise impacted a specific part of my body. About six months in, I was feeling so much better.
I have been going there ever since. After a year I switched to the PACK sessions, which consist of one trainer and three or four clients. We do a series of exercises that are written on a whiteboard, so we can see and become familiar with the names of the exercises. All the trainers are very knowledgeable, friendly and flexible in their choice of exercises. The owner takes a personal interest in all of the clients. I look forward to each session. You might say it’s like being with a group of friends. We laugh. We joke around. We exercise. We have a great time.
In addition to the great trainers, Fitness Together has the latest cardio equipment, including the rowing machine, the treadmill, the bicycle and the elliptical. I try to get there early so I can get my cardio in before I have my regular PACK session. I love how we stretch both at the beginning and the end of each session. We use weights, TRX machines, BOSUs, bands, etc. You name it. Fitness Together has it.
When I am at home, I do the stretches that I first learned at Fitness Together first thing in the morning to make sure my back is stretched out before I start my day. When I go away, I still do my stretching every day so that I don’t have any setbacks.
Fitness Together offers early-morning sessions as well as late-in-the day sessions, so you can pretty much go whenever you want. I could go on for a long time, but you get what I’m saying.
I highly recommend Fitness Together in Beverly to anyone who is out of shape and looking for a gym that offers many services, helps each client improve their physical fitness and genuinely cares about each individual who walks through the front door.
