My son enjoys learning at Mathnasium. The instructors make it fun and exciting. He has gained a lot of confidence in math in the few months we have been going to Mathnasium.
The staff is very knowledgeable of their students. They devise a plan that is made specifically for the individual. They are friendly and flexible and allow scheduling convenience for parents’ busy schedules .

I can’t express enough how grateful I am we chose Mathnasium, Clarkston to support and guide our teen toward comprehension and success with math.
I believe there are avenues for each family and student depending on level of need. This so happened to be the best choice for my teen who had a history of struggling in math since 1st grade, received teacher led tutoring in Elementary, and special math support classes in Middle School. Math support wasn’t helping likely due to class sizes & lack of a TA. This scenario lowers the chances for students who are struggling to get the one on one support they likely need vs relying on their “group” within their class to work through lessons.
The Director Mathangi Purushotham has been amazing to coordinate with from the beginning. She is professional, kind, extremely intelligent, and it was clear how extensive her education and retention covered a wide range of principles. Mathangi has such a calm presence, she is patient, and laser focused on setting the best plan for each students specific needs. My teen was struggling at the assessment meeting & had anxiety. Mathangi didn’t rush, didn’t become impatient, and if anything I could tell she was concerned. Instead all my teen was able to pick up was compassion.
It has been just under one month of enrollment 2 days a week and my teen does not fight me to go, and does not loathe it. My teen has had different tutors (they have different schedules) and has not once complained of being uncomfortable with teaching styles or personalities. Since tutoring began my teen feels calmer in math class at school, is understanding more, feels more confident, and has less math anxiety.
Last week was a small win, the first A- on the math exam at school! I was so proud and moved at how much this impacted my teens self esteem!
We scheduled tutoring sessions the week of the exam two days in a row to see if it would help prepare and practice those equations to comprehend. Beyond elated that this option helped tremendously!
I hope this review can help a parent/s who may be in a similar position of watching their child struggle and in the predicament where you are unable to help them due to the common core style being taught,that we were not. Don’t give up and if your gut keeps telling you that your child needs more intensive help before they can’t catch up… then this is your sign! Mathnasium is a solid option.

Our son loves going to Mathnasium. Not only are they helping him catch up to the rest of his class, but it takes the frustration out of homework time at home. He feels in control at successful at Mathnasium, which is helping his confidence in the classroom. He comes home with funny stories of staff having to do jumping jacks, being able to pick a prize, or spin the wheel. But whatever it is that day, he leaves with a smile on his face, which is a huge win!
My son went from complaining about math to being excited to go to the mathnasium. His confidence has gone up, his concentration skills are improving, and his maths skills are accelerating quickly. All the instructors work so well with him. I also love the feedback we get after each lesson, so I know exactly how he’s doing. I would highly recommend the mathnasium to anyone who wants to help their good improve their confidence and math skills. So thankful this place is here, I don’t know what we would have done without it.

Aspen is so patient and makes math fun. Usually my kids dread more studying but they both look forward to Mathnasium.

We are so glad the center in Wausau opened up. My child was testing way behind in math-by 3 grade levels. He had such a negative attitude towards math and being so far behind was impossible to catch up which defeated his drive to even try. After 2 short months at Mathnasium, he is absolutely making leaps and bounds in his math skills, and even more importantly he is EXCITED about the subject again! He is so proud after every session and always comes out with a huge smile on his face. It has been a blessing to see him flourish! His progress is visible-even in these summer months.

The Mathnasium classes have been truly beneficial for my granddaughters. They think in new ways about solving math problems. This experience is life altering and will help them be successful in their life skills and is already making a difference in their life.

Our kids love going to Mathnasium!
Our son hates HATES math. He also has a very difficult time sitting still and had a rough time in school this year. I don’t know what you put in the water over there at Mathnazium 😉 but he has LOVED his time there with you all so far! He looks forward to attending his tutoring sessions and thinks it’s pretty cool that he gets to play a game of cards afterwards. He even taught his father how to play Old Maid this past week and it was such a great family bonding experience (I had learned at Mathnazium too!). Overall our experience has been nothing but positive and we would highly recommend them!
