I have definitely seen a confidence and improvement is Math.
My daughter has been attending tutoring for 4 months. She is in the 6th grade and upon entering MS where the content moves faster, I immediately noticed gaps when helping with homework. For context she was meeting expectations with grades and standardized assessments in elementary, but that transition can reveal some things. Also, I am a former HS math teacher, so I understand the content very well. However, I recognized that my daughter needed a different approach and a more neutral party to help her.
The initial assessment confirmed and identified those gaps and the individualized learning plan has worked really well to scaffold in those needed skills. I am starting to see this translating into less pain and tears with homework, faster “mental math”, and improved class test scores where prior she was completing a lot of re-tests.
I want to emphasize that it takes time. Math builds on itself, so when some of those building blocks are shaky you have to solidify those skills before you see major results. It’s important to keep that in mind and have realistic expectations for improvement depending on how far your child has to go. Lastly, the owner, Tenequa Gabriel is a lovely human being and has been awesome!
My son has been going to Mathnasium for the last 2 years and his confidence and grades have skyrocketed. He told me yesterday his classmates call him a Math Nerd, so I asked him if he was okay with that. He said yes, no one else in his class can claim that title.

We absolutely love Mathnasium in Prosper! My son is 13 and I thought it would be difficult to get him to go to his sessions. The environment they have created is so fun and welcoming- he never complains and loves it!

My kids have been going to Mathnasium in Grand Prairie for almost a year, and I’ve seen real progress in both of them. My son is moving through his schoolwork much faster, and his teachers have noticed the improvement as well. The staff is extremely kind and always makes the kids feel welcome. We’ve had a great experience here at Mathnasium and are happy with our children’s progress.
Ms. Sarah and her staff are fantastic! Our child really enjoys her sessions and especially looks forward to the Problem of the Week as she’s completing a middle school math problem while she’s still in elementary school. Our kiddo reports that math at school is a breeze as she’s already learned a lot of concepts at Mathnasium. We plan to continue with enrichment here for years to come.

Love Chris and the Mathnasium staff! Over the past year Mathnasium has really improved my daughter’s confidence with her math studies. I appreciate the care and sensitivity they have provided to curating an excellent individualized program for her.
We would like to see frequent updates on what our kid is working on in her time.
In a few months they took our daughter from knowing 30% of the required 3rd grade curriculum to 80%. I highly recommend them especially as Prosper ISD has low academic standards. Don't follow the report cards they send home which are usually all A's. Instead follow the MAP scores and STAAR test results.
